I would like to postpone this a little (actually, as much as possible) but I wouldn't like to let it pass.

The release date is said to be during October. The pre-order pricing will end upon release. Will we get a warning (like one day or two before) or do we have to buy before the 1st of October to be safe?

GREAT. Appreciated. Since I presume people potentially interested have subscribed to this thread, this can be the ideal place. I am not expecting you send a newsletter with a warning, but if you do, I'm fine tooPeter - IK Multimedia wrote:We typically give some warning.fmr wrote:The release date is said to be during October. This thread is the last place I want to be right before release! I kid, I kid. I'll do my best to relay the warning here and on other forums and social media.fmr wrote:GREAT. Appreciated. Do the leading digital delivery and streaming services no longer use mp3, or am I missing something? Is it in fact not the number one format for these services, or am I again, missing something?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I emphasized the important part that explains exactly why. In T-Racks 5 description, IK states:
T-RackS 5 boasts more versatility and firepower than any of its competitors and gives you everything you need to professionally treat and finalize your audio from raw mixes to a perfect finished product ready for uploading to the leading digital delivery and streaming services or for CD printing.
How is this statement true when you have no mp3 export or burning capabilities?
Also from our T-RackS 5 page:
You can export high-quality audio in the appropriate formats for digital and physical distribution. However, if the features you are looking for are not there, we understand if T-RackS may not be the mastering suite that fits your needs. In T-RackS 5 you now can sequence and assemble your full-length production directly within the interface and create a cohesive album sequence, with suitable track metadata, like pauses, fades, track ID’s, ISRC codes, CD-Text, etc. Then you can export single high quality master audio files or the whole project in various formats such as WAV, AIF, standard DDP image for professional replication plants, or Wav Cue files.
I'm just trying to understand how I can benefit from the use of this program. Wave Assembly is only in standalone yeah, so I'm just trying to figure out how this feature could interface with a DAW, or final distribution in any way (as far as mp3 and CD burning go). From what I can see, the mention of 3rd party burning software and mp3 export, the third party burning software would already have these features, and cost about the same price as this upgrade?
Just trying to see how this feature could be of any benefit to me whatsoever, without having to purchase a 3rd party program. Thanks.

They serve/stream MP3s, yes. But most if not all digital distribution sites prefer or require WAV or other uncompressed formats and then they do the encoding and streaming/serving. I believe last time I looked at CDBaby (or Distrokid, my memory is getting foggier as I age) they had a FAQ entry "Why shouldn't I upload MP3 files?" for example.musicalwarmth812 wrote:Do the leading digital delivery and streaming services no longer use mp3, or am I missing something? Last time I put material out on CD I sent it out to a replication company, so in that case you'd be able to create the appropriate file/image via T-RackS but if you were burning it yourself you'd need software to do so.

Hi. My question wasn't answered. I'll try again: I have TRacks 4 with 4-5 separate TR plugins and a couple TR plugin bundles. I am thinking of getting TR5 MAX. What happens with the plugin I "use" to get the upgrade in terms of ownership? If I got TR5 MAX would I be free to sell my TR4 plugins because they would be replicated in TR5 MAX?

Sorry we missed that. Anything that qualifies you for a crossgrade/upgrade doesn't change, it will still be available to you. That means once you have T-RackS 5 MAX you can also transfer any product that qualifies for transfer (there will be a form field for the license transfer code next to it in your IK User Area).plexuss wrote:Hi. This would be because you'd be purchasing T-RackS 5 MAX (199.99 during pre-order) which contains the 38 processors listed at the bottom of the T-RackS 5 page to replace the ones you have.

Peter, that is a good and valid point. Aside from the Wave Assembly lacking these features, and EQual being a bit of a
disappointment for me, even from first sight this looked like a great update.

Thanks! So just to clarify - here you said that the TR5 MAX plugins would replace my TR4 plugins.... do you mean replace as in I would use the TR5 versions? My TR4 plugins would not be replaced in that I can then sell them because they would be redundant to those I get in TR5 MAX? I'm asking just to be clear because part of purchase decision take into account how much I can get for my TR4 plugins to off-set to the cost of the upgrade.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: This would be because you'd be purchasing T-RackS 5 MAX (199.99 during pre-order) which contains the 38 processors listed at the bottom of the T-RackS 5 page to replace the ones you have.
Also: concerning Jampoints. I have $50 in Jampoints allowing me to get MAX for $150. however I see that JRR sells the upgrade for $170. so really I am only getting value from $30 of my $50 points. It might be worth getting it from JRR and saving my Jampoints for another purchase in the future. Just want to know if I am missing anything here - I want to optimize the $ I have and spend.

Please hold off, I'm hearing from Support that there may be a complication here. I can take this offline with you and post the results once clarified. My apologies. It is after hours so I'll need to confer with our Support Manager. Again sorry about that but it shouldn't be a huge issue but I need to clarify a couple of points before you do anything.plexuss wrote:Thanks! I'm going to blame it on system changes and such that I can't keep up with. Let me have that - and a little bit of time - if you wouldn't mind being that gracious. Patience appreciate and again - sorry about that!
Also, please do know that I will certainly make it right for you however I can I just have to get all my ducks in a row and I'll fix things if I cocked up a bit, promise.

Yes no problem. no need to be so apologetic. I'm not a whiny audio $^@$. Take your time. PM me when you want and we can take it from there.
