Installation and authorization were a breeze for me, I had no difficulties at all. My first impressions are mostly positive: The sound seems to have improved throughout the modules, and the ability to resize is a big advantage. However, I've also discovered a couple of disimprovements when comparing version 5 to 4:

1. When selecting a preset from the selection pop-up menu (no matter which module), the pop-up menu would disappear after the selection in TR 4. In TR 5 however, the menu simply stays where it is until you click on the top of the module window or on the PLAY button of the DAW.

2. While in TR 5, all (or most) GUIs are improvements over their older versions, one specific GUI is not: The readability of the numbers of the Master EQ-432 has clearly diminished, no matter which window size you choose. A direct comparison of the two versions (same window size) will make this more than clear - see the attached picture.

My final point is a suggestion, not a point of criticism: I would give "One" a different GUI colour - simply to make it visually more distinguishable from the old "Classic" modules.

Peter - could you please relay this to the developers?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Yes, that hotfix (version B) fixes that specific issue.

Yes, it's working now!
Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

With T-RackS 5 the oversampling is much better, improved and thus is always on with a very small amount of latency and lacking any drawbacks that my have been evident in past technology. It didn’t really make sense to disable oversampling for these reasons: However if in the future there is a need for even less latency, we may consider creating an update to re-enable the “lowest latency” option.
Good to know! :)

Also, not sure if anyone else experienced this, but offline authorization would not work for me. I would say it completed successfully, but then the plugins would not be authorized. Online authorization did work, but I prefer to do offline authorization whenever possible.

The T-RackS 5 installer will install Custom Shop application and it is not an optional part of the installation.

Edit - if you mean the T-RackS 5 Custom Shop version you see in your IK User Area then you do not need to install that if you've installed your full version of T-RackS 5.

less cpu used compared to the older version - some modules ~50% - nice (win7, i7-3270qm, Reaper)

I've returned to the IK fold with TR5! Install on mac was a breeze, and a quick blast through the modules has me very impressed. On a retina display everything looks absolutely beautiful.

Just installed the Custom Shop edition - I only ever bought the old v3 Classic edition, and a few choice singles, and can see no apparent upgrade path.

1st impression was that all the menus were greyed out, only to find that, in fact, they weren't. This seems to be taking the darkness fashion a little too far. Very difficult to read. The developers at IKM must have cats eyes.

2nd impression - the GUIs all look as though they are made of icing sugar. I keep getting the urge to lick the screen. :o

Since I haven't actually bought any of the new modules, I can't vouch for the sound (if there's any difference, that is, campared to v4).

Just my tuppence worth.
Have a nice day!

PS
New to the party (and can't be bothered to read all 48 pages) so, apologies if this has already been mentioned.

PPS
Catch my new track on SoundCloud! (plug plug). :D
