Any plans for a drum replacer plugin?

THIS PLEASE!!!ericzang wrote:I also think it would be a nice option if in MDrumEnhancer there was an option to play the selected sample directly, or without the "resynthesized" sound. The triggering response of the plugin is very good.
I agree that the triggering response of this plug is exceptional. If there was an option to disable the synthesis, then I would have absolutely no need for any other drum replacement plugs!

I'm guessing you have something in development...? Can you give us any info?
Thanks!

I’m guessing that if MDE just plays the sample it won’t work as well. The problem with most drum replacement is that the detection doesn’t always work well, so you’ll sometimes get timing problems or it won’t pick up details like ghost notes. MDE doesn’t seem to have these problems, but unlike drum replacers it can’t replace what is recorded.
I think both types of tech have their place and MDE is a really interesting invovative plugin. Drum replacement works well when the sound is complete garbage and you need another sound to fix it. MDE is best used when the sound is ok, but it needs more sizzle, bass, power, etc.

I REALLY like the idea of a sample player based on threshold... but I think it should be a separate plugin. Ideally it would have a bunch of features for this purpose and could be used for things outside of just one-shot drum triggering. I'd love to have access to sampler type controls inside MXXX

I'm afraid this is actually not planned simply because there's no time for it and actually I think the drum replacers are kinda dead technology. For live use they are too unreliable and for studio use it's just better to use a host, that can do that already, like Cubase. Offline detection will always be much better... But who knows, maybe some day...
