Not much of a demo really. Looks quite (very) interesting nevertheless. $75 for upgrading. Ready in about 2 months.

How much do want to bet that Wolfram had walked away about 2 minutes before the interviewer showed up and Woody was like: “Aw crap...I gotta demo this thing and I’ve barely touched it!” LOL
The granular oscillators look really interesting. Looking forward to seeing more about this.

Upgrade from Biotek to Biotek 2 should be $50 MAX.
In fact I really think it should be free...
Biotek is a very obscure synth with nice features but a very non-intuitive workflow.
Since I bought it I barely touched it.

"Richard Devine did all the new patches. There are a hundred new patches there..."
Excellent, a hundred takes on vacuum-cleaner sounds. I. Simply. Cannot. Wait.
This is going to be one of those "$75 to upgrade, $50 to buy fresh when we knock it out on sale after a few months" situations isn't it?

The Biotek sounds are certainly not of the vacuum cleaner type.Gamma-UT wrote:Excellent, a hundred takes on vacuum-cleaner sounds. I. Simply. Cannot. Wait.

Admittedly, this one does appear to be pitched, so maybe "vacuum cleaner through resonator": https://youtu.be/huLI2hZmHUQ?t=179mevla wrote:The Biotek sounds are certainly not of the vacuum cleaner type.

As posted in another thread already wondering about what will be next wf9/Biotek/other already separetely sold packages upgrade prices this time it will be really on the edge if I will go on with it like I did since T3.
If I really will have to pay 150 bucks to get my wf8 (evry upgrade payed since T3) and separately bought Biotek and Mastering package upgraded like someone who just bought T5 one time I am definitely out.

They should at least said that V2is on its way ..... basicallt they sold an obsolete version , i was hoping for features implementation and enhacement (specially on the browser) , they're working on V2 ...
So basically we bought a dead version , and to get an "active "one .... i would have waited maybe ..
Anyway looks intersting , i can't stop laughting because i've read the vaccum comment before the watching the video , dead on lol ...you guyz never stop lol..

It's a wonder why Tracktion let this video happen at NAMM. The guy there does not obviously know much about Biotek as it clearly shows. Can't say much about it.Gamma-UT wrote: Admittedly, this one does appear to be pitched, so maybe "vacuum cleaner through resonator": https://youtu.be/huLI2hZmHUQ?t=179
And then there are guys like you that jumps on the occasion to say that it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. As if there was nothing else they could listen to.
By comparison the Bitwig clip at NAMM had direct audio and was very well done, explaining features and all that. Even the Waveform clip was better prepared and made.
For sounds from the current Biotek synth. And yes, as a synth it also does atmospheric sounds. If that's not your cup of tea, get a piano. Simple.

I guess it depends when you bought it. Got mine more than a year ago., If you bought it yesterday, well, the upgrade will be in about two months. I guess there's always a trade off in time. Let's see what the upgrade actually looks like. It would be cool for a company to get a special for people who bought it the week before the new release or so.Jeezo wrote: So basically we bought a dead version , and to get an "active "one .... i would have waited maybe ..

I own Biotek 1. I know what it sounds like. It's a reasonable enough synth with some useful performance features – not that the manual or Tracktion support has been at all helpful in helping me work out whether one or two of them are, at the moment, a bit broken. My comment was about the wisdom of getting Richard Devine to do all of the new presets on his own.mevla wrote:Gamma-UT wrote:And then there are guys like you that jumps on the occasion to say that it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I didn't even watch as far as the "Blade Runner" preset demo initially until you claimed Devine's presets would be much more diverse. Imagine my surprise when I heard the "best" one.

There's a video on Facebook that Woody has shared from the Full Scale AV page. It doesn't appear to be based on YouTube, so it looks like I can't post the video on here.
This might work if you're signed into Facebook already:

For the record, Tracktion has been known to allow recent purchasers of something to have the newer version.

All right. Good to mention it.Gamma-UT wrote:I own Biotek 1. I know what it sounds like.
One thing is to be able to backtrace an assignment.Gamma-UT wrote:IIt's a reasonable enough synth with some useful performance features – not that the manual or Tracktion support has been at all helpful in helping me work out whether one or two of them are, at the moment, a bit broken.
Well then, I do not know who this Devine guy is. So I looked it up on his soundcloud page. Listening to some tracks I see what you mean, although the tracks I heard are still not of the 'vacuum cleaner' sort.Gamma-UT wrote:IMy comment was about the wisdom of getting Richard Devine to do all of the new presets on his own.
Well I certainly did not claim that, as can be seen above. Can't boast about something I don't even know. Nor have I heard, and I do not consider the sounds made in that pseudo demo as listening to Biotek 2. In any case I like the current Biotek so I'll get the update.Gamma-UT wrote:II didn't even watch as far as the "Blade Runner" preset demo initially until you claimed Devine's presets would be much more diverse. Devine: Quite a feat to attract 20,000+ listeners with such material though I found 'Strum' to be quite good. Not what I would listen to it everyday, but it's good. The atmosphere and the arrangement of sounds is done with taste I find in other pieces as well.
And now for something completely different...

There's a big 'if' in there. Eventually it could be posted somewhere that's of public access.jabe wrote: This might work if you're signed into Facebook already:

It consists of Devine saying he loved working on it, even though he'd never heard of Biotek until Tracktion asked him to do the sounds. That's it. There is approximately zero useful information in the video, which is mercifully only about two minutes long.
