B5 v2.2.1: Bug in drawbars volume

I found a bug related to the drawbars' level: when the percussion level is set to Normal, even though the percussion is OFF, setting a drawbar to the max value (i.e. 8) via the GUI or via a MIDI controller (MIDI value = 0) results in different volumes, the latter case being louder.
Clearly, in the former case the software considers as if the percussion was ON and the drawbars level set to be quieter.

I see, thanks.
While I can imagine why the real thing behaves like that, it seems a bit counterintuitive that, in the software world, a disabled function still affects other features.

Well, i agree... but we decided to stick to the realism of the original instrument, so everything is like that, plus all real hammond players are looking for that volume drop when not using the percussion, it's become some sort of a feature.
Believe me, many things are counterintuitive on a Hammond organ... like many...

I find the UVI engine itself is a bit glitchy with larger library at 64 sample buffers. Right now I just tried the B5 and it ran without glitches, but just a few days ago the VI Labs pianos were causing glitches. Everything runs fine at 128 buffers. I also have to run my anti-virus in Game Mode to get that kind of performance out of B5 at 64 samples. Figuring that out was key on my particular setup.

Your antivirus shouldn't be running while doing any DAW work anyways...

Well I know I definitely shouldn't be browsing the web without antivirus software, or next are you going to tell me that I shouldn't be doing that while working on music either?EvilDragon wrote:Your antivirus shouldn't be running while doing any DAW work anyways...
Yeah, I use my PC for web browsing, and run AV software too, and sometimes I'll do that stuff when working on music. It's usually not a problem and if there's critical, performance intensive work to do, like tracking at low latencies, than I'll shut everything else down. The rest of the time, there's usually a browser window or two open somewhere and it's not a problem. My audio work is a hobby these days, and my system is pretty good and stable, so I'm not as uptight about these types of things nowadays. When it comes to critical work, I know what to do.
My point was that in my experience, UVI can be finicky performance wise (at low latencies). On my particular setup, UVI doesn't always love 64 sample buffers outside of B5 (could be my 13 or so year old RME Fireface 800 it doesn't like too - who knows) whereas even large Kontakt libraries run way more efficiently. I've heard other people say the exact opposite however. The performance of B5 right now is good enough for me (runs fine at 64 samples as long as three AV settings are right) whereas even in the past it was a bit glitchy.

Sorry, wouldn't it be better if you reported this issue in a separate thread?

Well, you can certainly browser the web without AV software, all you need is just a bit of brains, uBlock Origin and NoScript. And of course, not going to dodgy porn sitesFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Well I know I definitely shouldn't be browsing the web without antivirus software
