Many developers have imitated the Pro-Q look and feature, since it was published.
Among others IKM and Waves.
I think its one of the most influental UI in the last 10 years.

I got so much flak from some guy for suggesting on a ToneBoosters thread that EQ 4 was a blatant rip-off of Pro-Q 2 UI-ise. The sad thing is I thought TB EQ 3 was almost perfect the way it was, just needed to be larger, IMO. Loved the colors, the functionality, all of it. But Jaroen had to chase the Pro-Q 2 trend. The way how the floating box is implemented in EQ 4 is really dumb, IMO. I feel like it just gets in the way. I emailed him a long list of suggestions for UI improvements but since I'm just a random nobody on the internet I don't expect anyone to care. :hihi:

Check out apQualizr2 too. :tu:

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

Fabfilter Pro-Q is outstanding. Toneboosters Equalizer 4 is outstanding, and it's cheaper.

There's DMG Equick (£75) and Equilibrium (£175). :phones:

It's worth mentioning: Overtone DSP AF2-10/M Graphical EQ is £10.00 currently.

There is a deal on Ozone elements on plug in boutique, buy anything get elements free.
The Eq in Ozone is similar to pro q in some ways and just an all round good little plug in to get for almost nothing. I spent like 1:68 AUD and got some glitch effects plug in plus elements.

Yeah, that too :D They are quite good, which is no surprise, considering the dev
is former Solid State Logic. Too bad SSL put the Kibosh on his SSL emulations.
I like them better than his 500-series.

Never the less, a great deal :tu:

Ozone would be fine if resizable but obviously can't complain since it's free atm :)

imho Pro-Q2 with 40% discount would look better than Crave EQ regular price, but matter of preferance and waiting of course... :)

Was testing a lot of EQ plugin some weeks ago, mainly looking for something neutral sounding with fast workflow and not to many bells and whistles. Bought DMG EQuick second hand here in the market place after asking if anybody sells it. Fabfilter gui isn´t my thing very much and to me the workflow on EQuick was the most intuitive. So, definitely observe how fast you can set up the EQ right the way you want, cause it´s so annoying when this isn´t working the way you think it should.

If I didn't already have Pro-Q2, I would probably go with DMG Audio's
Equilibrium myself. I don't think I would choose EQuick or EQuality
over it...

That said, the Kilohearts and Crave Eq's are very good as well, and way cheaper.
I have the 2 Kilohearts EQ's and like the Crave EQ, but probably wont buy it.
The Kilohearts EQ's cost me next to nothing, so...

When I got the Pro Q, I thought my EQ buying days were over, I was wrong. :D
Although, I wont spend too much on anything else because of it. Alas, the
chances of me getting any of the DMG EQ's is very low.

I'm sure Pro-Q2 is amazing, but I can't justify €149 for just an EQ, when there are so many alternatives.

What I ended up using:
-The built in EQ in Studio One (a bit small and not re-sizable, but perfectly serviceable): €0
-ToneBoosters EQ 4 ("Poor man's Pro-Q2" in terms of GUI, but it's a dynamic EQ, and has many nice features): €30
-MEqualizer (Fully re-sizable with the Freemium FreeFX upgrade): €15 (bought during sale), for the whole bundle

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care
