I think it's strange that requests for price are being ignored. Unless the price hasn't been decided on yet. Either way, I get the feeling this puppy is gonna be out of my price range so I will wait to demo until I know exactly how much this thing is gonna cost me. I can already tell the GAS will be strong with this one.

Anyone tried it in Reason 10.2 or Studio One 4.1 on Windows 10?

For me it crashes Reason as soon as I touch a knob, whereas it freezes Studio One in same situation but I can go to different program (say, a web browser), come back and it will unfreeze. But then it'll freeze eventually again. Somehow it's related to knob operations (ahem...) because in both DAWs I can switch presets from the browser or using the left/right arrows, but as soon as I touch a knob it hangs / freezes. Interestingly both DAWs don't blacklist it once launched again, which they normally do for troublesome plugins.

Works perfect in Bitwig 2.4 and Live 10.0.3, though.

Based on the shear amount of features, the competition and Plugin Alliance I would be surprised if this came out with an RRP under $299, launch price of maybe $199, perhaps as low as $149 but i can't see it being less than that.

But then I'm consistently wrong when i predict things on this forum so hopefully it's less.

$199 I am thinking - which puts it out of my price range

Sounds reasonable

A question for those that have demoed BYOME. Could it replace any of the other big UA effects in terms of features and usability?

Post

Please Plugin Alliance and Unfiltered Audio, be smart, make it really unexpansive (99€) and sell TONS of it...

I hope you're wrong 'cause that's way too steep for me. :(

There's a scroll bar below the row of modules. Would be better if you could make the window bigger though, at the moment it looks like you can only scale it.
Yep was a doh moment, found the slider! The clipping actually occurs when I resize the Gui (in Cubase 9.5).
no biggie, but it Looks like some kind of bug

After going through all the options in this plug I must say I am slightly worried about the RRP as well, (especially with the omission of it).
It covers a LOT of ground, and to me would almost replace all the UA plugs I own (with the exception of SpecOps of course).

Still going to have to get it though, as it is a thing of beauty. It also just makes me want SpecOps to get a GUI update to match this! Damn you for making such good things!

It doesn't have any spectral processing of the SpecOps so that's one. It also doesn't have many of controls from SandmanPro or Fault.

But I think it's mainly about the easy & fast workflow and ability to modulate everything from the same source(s), to keep them in sync. If you ever used Bitwig, then it's a bit like that (minus signal splitters and the whole DAW part :D) - build a chain of FX and modulate them together. It really opens up creative possibilities.

My thoughts exactly! Suddenly the other ones that I have - SandmanPro, InstantDelay and Fault - look "dated" by comparison :)

Seriously. I mean, heck, how much breath has been wasted about Native Instruments not being able to update their guis from the 90s? :dog: The new gui is really nice, but the other ones are still really good too. We are spoiled. The only one that doesn't catch my fancy is G8, which is like their first plugin or something so it gets a pass.

Post

The G8 is a kick-ass gate imho. Personally, I look forward to UA giving it some love at some point. :tu:
