Planned change or issue perhaps ?
Yes, this problem with the LFO rate was reported. Hopefully, Arturia will fix it (sometime)

There's a handful of synths that I use from the collection a lot.
Some of the others, not so much.

The Synclavier V is right about at the top of my 'like' list,
and this update looks like it might push it straight to the top.
Good stuff.

It's just amazing for delicately evolving pads and textures and lovely fragile bellish and sine sounds.

yes, it excels at that, but it can also produce some raucous and powerful timbres (especially now that sampling and resynthesis was added) :)

Now I’m interested - especially if it makes fragile bellish and sine sounds and raucous, powerful timbres. Arturia should use that in their marketing.

Just to note that they updated most (if not all) of their instruments at the end of Sept.

Ya - I haven't used it for a while, been busy with other stuff.
So when I fired up the Synclavier V, the software center popped up
and said I had something like 17 updates, so I let it D/L all of them.
Didn't take too long.

Synclavier V was already in V Colletion 5, so I think that any owner of V Collection 5 can also get Synclavier V 2 for free too.
I can confirm as owner of collection 5 I get all updates for free. The upgrade price you pay mainly for the new instruments. Yes it is generous in this case, might trigger some upgrades for pure gratefulness... At the same time they don't need to bind resources for supporting older versions and they don't need to deal with pissed of customers who upgraded the OS against all experience which could break old code any time...

I have the V5 Collection. Using the latest Arturia Software Center, I just updated everything, and I still only have Synclavier V, though when I check its About screen, it says it's version 2.0.1.1815. The VST3 file date is October 10, so I'm sure it's the latest. However, I don't see a "Synclavier V2" in the list of instruments, as I did when I added Piano V2 to the existing Piano instrument from the V5 Collection.

Arturia's website did say that V5 Collention owners get the new stuff--but the link they offer isn't about these updates; it's about the V6 Collection in general.

So I guess the update for Synclavier V owners does add new synthesis options (and sample content), but it doesn't upgrade you to Synclavier V2. Do I have that right?

Same here. I have the 5 collection.
The '2' in the version 2.0.1.1815 lets you know it's V2 (version 2), but the actual title doesn't say V2, it still says Synclavier V.
But I tried it and you can import and re-synthesis samples. A little funny that it doesn't say V2, because some of the other ones say V2 or V3 in the title. But I'm not worried about it - it does what it's supposed to.

I got V-Collection 6 and I just had a look. The GUI and the plugin name for Synclavier do show "Synclavier V" but in the About screen it is v2.0.1 and it also has then new features. If the About screen says you got v2 it is indeed the new v2

I also checked the other plugins. Those do not show the major version at the name shown in the main GUI but in the plugin name in your DAW (here it is Live 10 Suite) and in the About screen.

Usually Synclavier v2 should show up as "Synclavier V2" in the plugin name at your DAW (and the DLL file for teh VST2) like it is done with the other plugins. Not sure if it is a bug or if Arturia intended to do it that way.

Yes, some plug-ins have the V2 in their name (like for example the Piano), or even V3. I think that's because there are older versions, and the new versions weren't free upgrades to owners of the old V Collections.

Since Synclavier V is only one, and is a free upgrade to all current owners, there was no need to create a different name, because nobody would need to keep the old version.

Personally, I think that makes more sense since the V in the names stands for "Virtual" (not version), so, a correct name for Piano V2 should be Piano V v2 (somehow absurd). I'm glad the Synclavier kept just the V. If they would need to change the names, I would better like to see something like Synclavier V II, or Piano V II, or CS80 V III

Christmas is already in October this year. I am so glad that Arturia finally implemented the resynthesis. When Hans has completed the DX7 converter, Synclavier becomes the beast.

Numpty question that I really should know - how to you get an init patch on the Synclavier?!
