Well, I aim for understatement.

Hummm... Do like the AAS stuff and have most of the products, so handy freebies for me.
Need to find my olf Focusrite nocturn product then in the loft and hope the register triggers the collective.

I'm assuming you can use these AAS sound packs in the stripped down "Session" versions of the plugins (the ones Focusrite gave away last time), but it doesn't say that explicitly. It only mentions the full version and the player version.

Not usually, no. I specifically asked AAS about that. The full versions of the AAS synths have parameters the Session versions don't, so the patches may not even load.

Not quite sure what you are saying there. For the sound packs it says for most they load on Chromophone/ whatever AND the session thing. My experience of soundpacks was that they work fine in the session player but then there is limited or no tweakability.

Do any of the AAS sound packs work with the Ableton instruments that are made by AAS?

Then they may have changed something. Here's what Marc told me about Ultra Analog:

"The Ultra Analog sound banks will NOT [Marc's emphasis] load into Ultra Analog Session. The reason is that although both synths are based on the same synthesis engine, they do not share the same parameters. The only other way to play these sounds is therefore with the included AAS Player."

Now this was back in 2013, so they may have changed something since then. Either that, or it only was an issue with Ultra Analog, which was the only synth I asked about. Still, they're pretty good about answering their support e-mails, so it might be worth just asking them directly.

I think something must have changed - all the sound banks here will run in the player. Also when you buy the sound bank you get a free copy of the player.

I think you're conflating the AAS Player (which comes with each soundpacks) with the Session version of Ultra Analog (which is a totally different product).

You apparently can't run the soundpacks in the Session version of Ultra Analog.

Yes, I think he was confusing the two. I've been talking about the full version of the synth compared to the Session version. The Session synths have a limited number of parameters you can access, and the Player has none, really.

The Session synths won't load the full version's soundpacks, but the Player will load them. And while the Player will load the full version's soundpacks, you can't do anything other than hit a note and hear the sound, basically. I wouldn't buy a soundpack to use it in the player.

I just asked them regarding loading the sound banks in the guitarist session application. Will return with the answer if I get one :)

They sure will get loads of support emails over this one

Bought Jussi as a result but without demoing
What a disappointment
I like vocal libraries and was excited when jussi popped up, but the sound demo's never grabbed me, so I passed it up. Spitfire audio has just released a choir set for their free labs plugin, only has 1 sustained choir patch tho, could help with the gutted feeling, or maybe not :hihi:
Jussi is really basic and the output is estremely low.
Cant be compared in any way to a vocal library.

Yeah, the Labs stuff is good. Luckily I downloaded all the kontakt versions before they changed the format.

Huh? I just got $100 off of R4 by cashing in my now-rather-old FPC R2. Very happy.
Get R4 even cheaper, i did post this in the Bargains thread
