So then how do they know the difference between a new purchase and an upgrade purchase?sureno wrote: Sun Dec 09, 2018 2:33 amNew serial issued on time of purchase via email then register it in your account, then upon 1st time use re enter serial and on/off line activation required (steps on OS X)wagtunes wrote: Sun Dec 09, 2018 2:25 am Also, I'm assuming my Dune 2 serial number will activate Dune 3 when I purchase it at the upgrade price. Yes, no? How exactly does this work?

Okay, I just went to the site to purchase. There is no purchase link for people who have Dune 2 and want to upgrade. There is one link to purchase for the full amount.
So how do Dune 2 owners upgrade to Dune 3?

Hmmm. it is crystal crisp and clear on my macbook pro retina screen.db3 wrote: Sun Dec 09, 2018 2:31 amYes, Huge would be for something like a native 4K monitor, but Mac retina doesn't work like that...it displays graphics like a standard resolution screen but with super high pixel density — so you can't see the pixels. The GUI is not taking this into account, so I get same large size upscaled for retina i.e blurred.

You have to log into your user area and choose Upgrades tab on the side.wagtunes wrote: Sun Dec 09, 2018 3:16 am Okay, I just went to the site to purchase. There is no purchase link for people who have Dune 2 and want to upgrade. There is one link to purchase for the full amount.

Easy purchase (no brainer upgrade), easy download (10 seconds or less), quick install and all is well!
GREAT SOUNDS!

79USD for this update from dune 2 is pricey, not much worth it, you will get same preset like dune 2 plus few more due to new layout but nothing like expected from new product, seems like dune 2.5.

How is even pricey with wavetable editor, doubling the previous features of Dune2 and increasing the presets collection? it would be more understandable if you say that would be nice if certain features were in this new version, perhaps drag and drop modulation (I use this one with Icarus and yeah is a very handy way to modulate parameters)deejay2 wrote: Sun Dec 09, 2018 3:23 am 79USD for this update from dune 2 is pricey, not much worth it, you will get same preset like dune 2 plus few more due to new layout but nothing like expected from new product, seems like dune 2.5.
This is one of the best synth currently with massive unison voices possibilities, I can't afford the full price, but I can't say it doesn't deserve what is asking for the normal price, ones might wait for a sale when is available (if there is).

Well, as much as I loved Dune 2, I love Dune 3 even more. That wavetable editor is right out of Serum. Hopefully, these wavetables don't take up too much space.

Not worried about the minor bugs, I'm sure they will be cleared up quickly. I am a little miffed at the 80$ upgrade when what I'm paying for is the presets. KS is one of the better preset makers out there, I'm just not interested in presets... but still have to shill out for them. I will upgrade eventually. kinda think it should be a 50$ upgrade tho. Is it audio rate modulation? that would help me make my decision quicker.

From what I can tell it does not have audio rate modulation. The GUI is resizeable.Dasheesh wrote: Sun Dec 09, 2018 4:08 am does it have audio rate, and is it a bigger GUI? those are my questions.

It’s way more than just a preset upgrade, don’t know where you got that nugget from...
Also, Audio rate modulation has been possible in Dune 2 for a while.

Thx for the reply so please show me the new features. Trailer etc. No offense but to promote a v3.0 with 200 new presets of kevin schroeder (yeah and now?) Is ridoculous. Is this the new marketing gag? Hey new 300 presets of xyz v.5.0 wow..... wow.Richard_Synapse wrote: Sun Dec 09, 2018 12:59 amWe believe it is more than fair, but I can understand if it is not instantly clear where the upgrade price comes from.Caine123 wrote: Sat Dec 08, 2018 11:39 pm Steep upgrade price in my opinio when it doesnt seem like a full 3.0....
Take the patch library as an example. More than 200 of the new patches are made by Kevin Schroeder, and as usual they are of excellent quality. Each of his soundsets with about 64 patches is currently $20 in our shop. So the new patch library alone is worth the upgrade fee from this perspective. Of course other sound designers have contributed outstanding patches as well, this is just one example.
Then there's the new features of course, the dual filter, dual arp, wavetable editor etc which are really powerful additions, greatly increasing the sound design capabilities and versatility of the synth. The new skin is ihmo better than the old one (granted this is subjective), what's important it is HD and resizable, usable from Notebooks to 4K/5K screens, an important step forward.
Furthermore there's plenty of other additions not directly visible from looking at the screenshots or trying out demo patches. We put new high-quality analog-modeled filters in DUNE 3 that did not exist previously, as well as a whole bunch of new high-quality effect algorithms. We could easily take some of those, wrap a nice fancy UI around them, add a few parameters then sell them for $99 separately, noone would even think of complaining
It will just take some time to really show off all the new features in more depth. I guess we will launch a video series soon to cover it all in more detail.

Avenger gets Full new features for free!!!! Sure i dont expect this everywhere but then as the first point listing new presets for v3.0.... come on !!!!!
And again why no better mod matrix? Why no drag and drop. Yeah i know it is too modern but we got 2018 and even i know how to use it without drag and drop this is better than 200 new presets.....
And the $79 for dune2 users.... yeah wavetable esitor etc. Really fine and great additions but there is no workflow improvement much and dune 2 lacks it still.
Oh again 200 new presets sorry i forgot....
And now i know people will bash me. But this is one of the worst replies and justification for a paid update oh sorry upgrade what i read in my life. Even iZotope isnt like that....
I might still upgrade after demoing and getting the new features checked as i love dune2 but this is a very bad taste from a respected company i once had.
Oh even rapid which is a nfr product after purchase. Thats why i dont support them. They got so many free updates with great features and dont call it a new version etc.
As a dune 2 user i feel not happy. Especially the pathetic justification with presets. Bext presetpack is dune 4.0 then.... lol
