Don’t worry, there’s a lot of people ready to screw when an occasion appears. That’s a perfect example of digital stealing.
Digital stealing? They released a code. I used the code. They didn't say "don't use the code for more than one thing" or send an email saying it was a mistake. I had no reason to think that's not what they intended. It's not like there's no such thing as multiple-use codes. Sheesh.
Yeah, right. I can see telling the judge: « Well, you know, the bank forgot to lock the door and put the alarm on, so I thought maybe they wouldn’t mind if I took some money. I’m a good client, your honor. From now on, I will go there more regularly. »

Of course, this was a glitch in the Zero-G system, otherwise they would have not fixed it.

I could understand someone using the code for a couple of packs at the most, if he’s buying something after that.

But, seeing people that are glad using the code for 23 or 50 packs for free... C’mon, that’s pretty shameful.

As far as I know, the act of stealing is taking for himself something which was not supposed to be taken.

Call it what you want, if that makes you feel good...

If you’re so clean about what you did, at least write to Zero-G and ask them if they are good with what you did...

How does DDMF do sales? Will there be a sale on new year? Is that the best time to pick something from them?

Yes, that's exactly the same thing. View must be nice from up there on your high horse.

If you start a debate about piracy, I’m pretty sure that you will see people starting to use these kind of arguments to justify that there’s no problem with that.

It’s easy to attack the messenger instead of recognizing that you might have use too much of a good thing...

Since you're all self righteous, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Post

My thoughts exactly.

Post

I’m not without sins. But I’m not bragging about them either.

When people are posting here about how they could pirate a music software, kvr members wants their head and mods banned them.

When some people are bragging about taking 50 packs for free which were clearly not supposed to, some kvr members defend them and glorify what they did.

I’m not a higher morale than others. For me, it’s just the same kind of crime, just with 2 different methods, but with the same result....

Post

And that’s it for now. I have been asked for a private audience with the Pope, after filing a complaint to the cops on my way there...

Then I will be able to resume my normal life full of sins...

I'm not sure who's the big loser here TBH. Are there even fifty packs that you could download that are less than $10? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that, if there are, they aren't going to actually get used.

Post

As the great Kramer used to say: “I take baths”.

Post

Exact email from Zero-G:

"As a present to all of our customers, we're giving you $10 discount on top of all of our winter savings. Use the following code as many times as you like over the next 24 hours!" (I can offer a screenshot if it helps.)

That was it. No exceptions, no rules, no concepts, nothing. Just a huge invitation to use a code. And use it often. This was not a glitch in their system like with Sonic Academy (which I reported to them) where you could MIS-use a code and in essence get everything on their site for free. In this case there was no misuse. There was no minimum listed. Then it gets mentioned on a forum, and everyone goes and applies it to everything...which clearly was never the intention. So they set a limit. But no harm, no foul.

And no I did not go and grab 50 libraries. I had actually paid for every REX library years ago, and outside of an Omnisphere soundset, had most of it. The wav libraries are not something I would use so that was a no go. In the end, I bought something that gave me $10 more off and ended up paying about $2 for it (that Omnisphere soundset). So they still got my money.

Let's not make more of this than what it is.

Thanks Jon.
