yeah, i converted all the DX7 banks in existance for my SY77.

doing the same for the arturia plugin seems redudant as
DEXED already handles them and reproduces the sounds quit convincingly.
but hey, its your time.

The preset browser in DX7 V would be ideal for sifting through thousands of presets compared to Dexed.

Thanks for working on this Pietw. Are you keeping notes on the results? It would be nice if the "All the web" bank library were completely redone in sysex format, eliminating the many duplicates and bad banks.

It's a pity that DX7 V does not allow you to send banks or patches to a real DX7, nor to export DX7-compatible sysex patches and banks (provided, of course, that you use only DX7 features).

I mostly use Dexed as a patch editor and librarian for my DX7, but DX7 V is so much nicer to edit on, especially for the operator envelopes. It would be nice to have one do-it-all tool.

Well, DEXED is just plain vanilla DX7. Arturia DX7 V has over 20 waveforms in addition to sine, a filter per operator, fx, and so on. A completely different animal to DEXED, in other words. So, hardly a "redundant" effort if you feel a bit more adventurous than just constricting yourself to those rather tired old sounds 1:1. ;-)

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

its a pretty cpu hungry animal as well, i hear... all that "extra" stuff doesnt come without
a price, in more ways than one.

With all the time you spend in complaining about cpu hungry synths, you could have worked for a beast of a cpu and then some...
My pc is 'already' 3 years old and has no problem whatsoever running anything.
But I took the effort and had the insight to build a good custom pc from the start...

Thanks PietW! Huge thanks. There are lots of us folks who will appreciate these!

Hi guys,
I have decided not to convert all sounds for the DX7 V. There are too many sounds and too many folders. Much too much for the DX7 V. I think nobody needs 500 harps or guitars or Clavinet for the DX7 V. I also believe that the amount of sound banks in the DX7 V is limited. The original library has over 1000 sound banks. I will convert sounds from all the soundbanks but not all.

I have already converted almost 8,000 sounds and will later make these available for download. Copy the contents of the folder "User" into the user folder on your hard drive.

Too bad there's no way to batch load all 468 sysex files. Having to do them one at a time is just a bit time consuming.

Here is a Link for Download. There are over 9.500 Sounds for DX7 V.
