SampleTank 4 on the way

Thanks, yes, that’s true. I didn’t mean the single installer for the program and plug-in, I meant all of the many installers for all of the sounds. Bottom line: once we get our USB sticks, we should be good to go and just install those and end up with a good full install, without having to muck around with downloading substitutie or additional sound installers. That is fertile ground for headaches, hassles, and mistakes. All the problems I’ve been reading about in this thread over the past few days should not be present on the USB sticks that get shipped to us and we receive. That’s all. I am more than happy to wait a few more days to make sure that is so.

Studio One user here also and I'm still concerned with maddogs post especially because Sampletank 3.7 has never worked longer than 20 minutes without a crash. Peter, can you or anyone else please shed some light on stability in Studio One?

Mine seems to basically work, but on 4.0.0 there is no way to see Miroslav organized by its folders, which makes it nearly impossible to use. Has this been fixed in 4.0.2? I’m not clear what the Imported instruments browser improvements are.Dillinger wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 1:20 am Question: Does the full retail Miroslav 1 work in ST4 Max?

As a user, I can confirm that it does, with some caveats. Miroslav 1 cannot be imported directly into ST4, but it can be imported into ST3. If you do not have ST3, I believe the free Sampletank 3 Custom Shop edition has the ability to import Miroslav 1 (perhaps Peter can confirm this?)Dillinger wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 1:20 am Question: Does the full retail Miroslav 1 work in ST4 Max?
Once you have Miroslav 1 imported as a legacy instrument in ST3, you can rescan the ST3 library in ST4 and Miroslav 1 will be available in ST4 (SE, Standard or MAX). Some new ST4 features (mod matrix, for example) will not be available for ST3 or legacy instruments, but the samples will work as well as in Miroslav Philharmonik 1 or ST3.

No worries. This is covered in the user manual:abernathy wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 2:43 amMine seems to basically work, but on 4.0.0 there is no way to see Miroslav organized by its folders, which makes it nearly impossible to use. 4.3 - Folder View
You can alternatively view the Libraries in the classic SampleTank “folder view” style by clicking the folder icon at the top left of the Library column. This will hide the Category and Filter selectors and instead show you a nested folder hierarchy of the Instruments for each Library. This configuration will be familiar to users of SampleTank 3 and earlier. But it is a less efficient way of working than the default browser column configuration. It is important to note that the Folder View hides the Category and Filter columns. If you want to use the Category and Filter columns for more powerful searches, click the folder icon again to de-select it and return to default Instrument Browser configuration with the 5 columns.

Yep - confirmed. I had ST3 instrument definitions in the ST4 folder, but not the actual samples. IK support found the problem and provided easy steps to walk me through cleaning up my ST3 and ST4 library folders without lengthily reinstallation of ANY product. All content for ST4 Standard, ST3 Standard, Syntronik Deluxe, The Grid and Miroslav Philharmonik (v1) are all running from inside ST4. I'm a very happy customer!Mkdaws32@gmail.com wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 7:07 pm It may have been my fault - I may have managed to install either some ST3 content in the ST4 folder or vice versa during my initial troubleshooting. IK has responded to my ticket and is being very helpful (not asking stupid newb questions)
I may end up doing a full reinstall ST3, Syntronik, Philharmonik, import legacy content into ST3, then finally reinstall ST4. Not much time tonight so it may take me a while to report back.

Peter, I won't mention the name of the support technician I worked with, but can you inform his manager/supervisor that I am very happy with the service received? Ticket number was #228056

I'm now getting prompted constantly to load the next zip file for a multi part library dozens of times.

Yeah it's a downer bc it behaves like a demo version working well for a bit and as soon as I get something going just shuts itself down. None of my other VSTs from NI, UVI, Lexicon, Tal, etc do this. Windows 10 i7 quad, 8gb, SSD+7200rpm. Downloading the sound files is the easy part, installing them one at a time has been horrendous. I wouldn’t have this VSTI for free if I had known what a hassle is going to be to install it.dbender wrote: Thu Feb 28, 2019 1:24 am Thanks, yes, that’s true. Feature Request: Need to be able to hide icons for unnecessary libraries. As a MAX owner, I don't need to see SE and Free icons. As a Mir2 owner, I don't need the SE icon. etc...

Studio One cannot see the ST4 VST2 on my system either, so it is VST3 for me only for now, but so far no crashes when loading it. I have not had a chance to use it that much yet, but so far it looks stable.
Never had any issues with ST3.7 here either.
Anything specific I can try to reproduce the crash?

MagDog; I just remembered I once had a problem with Studio 1 not seeing a VST .dll.MadDogE134 wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 10:24 pm yes i have re-scanned and cleared blacklist multiple times. but to fix my waves problem (v9 and v10 plugs) with S1 i had to remove a .ini file i think it was and force it to re-write it before it would actually see a few of my new v10 plugs. wondering if that might help but as i stated before S1 is seeing and scanning other VST2 plugs but will not recognize the VST2 version of ST4... it only sees the VST3 version and it still crashes to desktop on instantiation.cheers and thnx for tryin' to help

It was Omnisphere and for some reason S1 would NOT see the Omnisphere .dll in the folder
(for example c/steinberg/VST )
I finally created a new folder for omnisphere (ie, C/Steinberg/VST/OmniVST/.
It then worked.
