Hi,

I received a response to my support request instructing me to update the to newest version of ST4 (4.0.3), the newest sound library, and to re-download all the samples.

So I've reinstalled ST4 and the sound library, but do I/should I delete/uninstall all the old samples before installing all the new, re-downloaded samples? I don't want them taking up room in my hard drive, but I am not sure if they have to be left installed or not.

why would you need the old samples when you're reinstalling?

That's exactly what I thought. But things haven't exactly gone smoothly with the ST4 launch, and I'm paranoid, that for some bizarre and inexplicable reason that having the original samples would be a prerequisite for the new samples to work.

At this point, nothing would surprise me.

you were told to redownload all the samples. what you would be downloading are the original samples, plus updates.

ST4 sounds good but its been really frustrating. Ive reinstalled the latest version and sound library. I still can't get The Grid to work, its authorised and installed but comes up as locked. Why is it also that Philharmonik CE and Syntronik Free comes up in the list of libraries ( I have the list set to authorised ) as download icons. I have Philharmonik 2 and Syntronik Deluxe installed and working ok. No big issues , as I don't use The Grid or now can't, and Philharmonik CE and Syntronik Free are just there in the way. Its messy. How does one import legacy libraries, if possible? I have some old Xpander banks?

ST4, "Rompler from Hell" ,.. so bizar that it gets funny

But not funny for those that got their money and time stolen, working free fro IK as beta's

Still missing the tool they paid for

Money is money, but even worse is the time they steal, becourse you wil never get that time back

And then comes the aspect of being fooled, and participate in a bad joke

For me stepping out after the ST3, and latest T-Racks mess, has made me take a break, and explore
Presence XT once again, as found in the latest S1 ver 4, such a nice and well-supplied rompler with sounds that I actually feels like using, in oposition to ST3, that remained uninspiring, and unused to

Wasted money and time ST3 was

Presence, and S1, alle the versions, in contrary, never coursed me ONE single problem,... EVER !!

Hard to believe I guess, for someone, but its actually possible to make a rompler that just works

(given you have the competence obviously)

Right now I am importing JRR's new Orpheus library into Presence XT via EXS-format, seems to work

Guess I kinda forgot how well-equipped Presence actually is when I bought ST3, typical GAS

And for more specialised stuff, not being bread and butter, there is more specialised plugs anyway

But there is lots of favourits in Presence, that stand the distance until final mix

Ok, so its been month since the release, how is it working for those who had not been able to make it work before? or had troubles? had updates solved them?

p.s. please dont replay those who had it working right without problems from the start

When IK says "Pre-Order" what we do we say ? That's right "Hell NO".

We say "finish your product, properly test it, then release a demo so we can try it out before buying".
No more "go fund me" for you.

I must have learned from an earlier IK release because I had a gut feeling not to do the pre-order.

But I would like to personally thank all of the KVR Beta Test Team for early adopting ST4 and saving the rest of us money and lots of frustration.

Buying ST4 now would be like asking for a big plate of Sushi after knowing that several people got violently ill after eating it. Yea a few people ate it without any ill effects but who's going to take a chance ?

I am still experiencing unpredictable crashes when loading and switching certain instruments in the ST4 library.

I have a ticket open with support for this. After a month and 3 patches, I still don't feel that it is ready for daily use yet, but I am hopeful that it will get worked out. Until then I'll just stick with the ST3 content.

ST4 has a lot of potential, and that is the most frustrating thing. It sounds great, but doesn't quite meet expectations regarding stability.
