Whgat's the difference between the 4000E ($69) and 4000G ($49) (before the $20 off coupon)? I've never bothered trying these - but $29 for the 4000G is very tempting...masterhiggins wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 8:44 amSSL E for $29. Lol. I was wondering how long it would take them to lower it that much. There you have it. If you wait a year you can get pretty much any PA plug-in for $29. That’s one hell of a devaluation.Tappistry wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 6:11 amFinally, MetricAB for $19.Ou_Tis wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 10:54 pm "$20 VOUCHER FOR ALL!

I found it the other way round. Actually the difference between E and G are just the EQs. Both versions have both compressors included.Harry_HH wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:33 am E is more clean and transparent, G bit more dirty or amped-sounding.

Thanks for that dermage and Harry. I didn't really think there's much of a difference.
I think I'll just go for the G, since it's a real steal at that price

I don't think it's desperation. I think they've realized how many hundreds or thousands of people will buy plugins at $69 or less but won't buy them at $99 or more. 1000 sales at $29 beats 5 sales at $199.shidostrife wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 11:52 pm Always wait until the last day of a sale. Learned that with Playstation Store
Anyway, PA seems a lot more desperate lately. Suddenly pulling Waves moves since 1-2 months ago. What happened?
I've taken advantage of the offers a couple of times (PA doesn't have much I want.) But I actually prefer the approach taken by Tokyo Dawn - reasonable prices, no sales.

I don't either think they're desperate. These are marketing tactics they're testing out. Probably they realized cheaper sells more and makes the 2nd hand market irrelevant. If you buy during a mega sale in the beginning. And then additionally receive a voucher, you probably will buy another plugin, which you wouldn't have bought if you hadn't got the voucher. All in all they making more money in the end.fold4 wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 10:39 amI don't think it's desperation. For this model of course, you have to 1) constantly release plugins 2) get good reviews to keep the demand high.
And I can't say, the plugins are bad. The recent months got me great stuff for quite good money:

They turned me down. Oh well, it was worth asking. Demoed it on a mix I was having trouble with and it helped immediately. Worth the $29 (even if it means my dealhound rep takes a hit).soundbylaura wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 11:21 pmNOOOOOOOOOOOO! I also prefer that approach, however I'm sorry to be the one to let you know that Tokyo Dawn Labs started doing sales late 2017.fold4 wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 10:39 am I've taken advantage of the offers a couple of times (PA doesn't have much I want.) Also sorry that I have to include a small rant:
While I can't can't blame them for doing sales it unfortunally had a bad impact on me. I was planning to buy all of their plugins but then I saw that I could have purchased them all for not much more what I paid for the 3 plugins I had bought some months earlier.
Sure they later added bundle discounts for their already existing customers but those where still much more expensive. I wrote them an email about it but never saw any changes so that ended up creating a bad vibe for me. I have not, to this day, purchased anything more. Still hoping my mind can let that slide one day but my hangups usually ends up having a life of their own and long ones at that.
With that said I still wish them all best and I have nothing but goodwill, my wallet however is p*ssed AF but then he is just a greedy wanker with constant GAS and never gets satisfied anyway...

Interesting. Those sales are being run by third party distributors, though. And I suspect that once you've signed on to sell through those people you don't get much say. I doubt Glitchmachines would have okayed the $2 per plugin sale on which I got 3 of theirs from pluginboutique. I did it so I could have extended trials because glitchmachines stuff is difficult to know whether it's going to work for me or just produce a bunch of interesting but not musically useful glitch noises. If I decide I want them long term I'll probably re-purchase direct when glitchmachines themselves have a sale because then they'll get a decent amount of money for them (and not the max $1 or so each they probably got from pluginboutique.)

It's actually much cheaper than the upgrade price available to owners of other UA plugins.cptgone wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 2:47 am Plugin Alliance put BYOME on sale, at the same price as the reduced one I'm offered at my PA Customer Account, as a Spec Ops owner. So to me (and others like me) it makes more sense to wait for april's coupon, it seems.
The upgrade is normally $99. They just changed it in the user accounts to reflect the current sale price...

Don't know if what I wrote in my previous post makes a difference to your feelings toward them. I'll admit I am disappointed to find that the price offered for upgrade to the full bundle from the 2 I've bought would mean I'd still have paid more than buying the bundle outright. I save, but not as much.Kr3eM wrote: Thu Apr 04, 2019 2:03 pm
