I've been using standalone to learn the instrument and its features.I'm not always recording, sometimes I come up with a riff or chord progression on the guitar and jam along with a drum program(AD2) to flesh it out.Sometimes I open Addictive Drums 2 standalone and just jam with whatever beat sounds or feels good to me,now I can do the same thing with bass. When I first got AMR II,I spent some time going through the riffs in the browser, letting them play and jamming along with them,it was fun.

Stand-alone helps keep focus on just the bass without any other distractions of daw and other plugins.
Saved my first modified riff to dedicated user folder.

Exactly.

volume/gain slider for main

In Manual: There are Pitch, Velocity, Duration, Articulation, Legato, Vibrato Range, Vibrato Rate, Bend Type, Bend Editor, Note Off Velocity, altogether 10 options for each note.

I don't see these controls.

You can right click a note for options/articulations or drag it up/down.

I'm referring to 5.2.1 Note Attributes Overview on pg. 44, not the context menu.

Edit: Never mind, manual looks like a series of drop-down menus above grid, but appear to be just explanations of context menu choices.

Edit 2: Found them; they appear when inserting a new note in a new riff.

For those reading about RapidComposer here, please be informed that it has a very steep learning curve, which is made steeper by constant improvements and expansions. (I own it, and have failed to keep up!)
I would not want Riffer to become so complex.

I agree, though, with the requests re scales and such.

I would not want Riffer to become so complex.
I don't think that would happen, It could not have all the RC features in the instrument plugin.
Ample has added the Bass generator same as RC without making it complicated, just improving it, all it needs is to re-fit riffs as RC does.
So that is just 2 of the many, many features of RC.
It will be better than the complex time consuming task of changing things manually.

Sort of OT: I just loaded up agf2 and it's a whole tone higher than two other guitars I have loaded.

This probably isn't the right forum for this and I don't want to make anybody mad but, I have questions for those of you using Rapid Composer and similar programs. How are you using Bass Riffer in conjunction with RC and what are you wanting it/them to do? Are you wanting it/them to generate a bass line for you to edit and modify or are you wanting Bass Riffer and/or RC to generate a use as is bass line? I'm just trying to understand.

I'm a guitarist,I write mainly rock and blues music.Very often I open Addictive Drums 2 standalone, find a beat and jam to it.I did the same thing with AMR 2 when I got it. I scrolled through the riffs in the browser and when I found one I liked,I let it play and I jammed along with it. The past couple of days I've been using Bass Riffer to write riffs, either modifying existing riffs or writing riffs for songs and music I've written. I'm going to write some generic riffs to go along with some of the midi loops in AD 2,then I'll have something to start with later. Some of what you guys are asking for can be done with a little bit of work with your Ample Sound Bass opened in standalone mode.I hope I'm not making anybody mad,I'm just trying to understand. I'm old school and use virtual instruments because,I don't have access to the real instruments or musicians.

Hello Everyone!

Does anyone know someone selling "Bass Riffs" libraries? Sure I can easily create a bass line but I'm racking my brains out trying to make it sound realistic.... when should I tap, mute, palm, slap, pick... I'm not a bass player... hence the reason I'm using this wonderful virtual instrument.

Thanks!

Maybe something like this? Virtual Bassist ROYAL, fingerstyle with 40 styles and 450 phrases.

I have a ujam guitar, but haven't tried the bass yet. The bass "player" mode might be what you are looking for. They offer a 30 day trial to check it out. There are also a picked bass and an upright version available.
