Well, the GUI looks pretty sterile, that's true. Frankly, though, i don't make music with the eyes. It's functional, and it does the job. It's not very self-explanatory, though. WTH is "Int on" and "Int off", for example? Or Gorilla mode. Still have to decipher the Performer section as well, as i never used that in Massive 1. Guess i'll have to wait for the manual.
I'm fine with how the GUI looks in the visual aesthetic sense... It is usability that is not so great.

As just one example, if I want to check and see all the parameters that Macro 1 might be modulating, I have to go through all the various tabs to look and see i there is a '1' as a modulation source. That can be as many as 12 different tabs down in the modulator section and up top checking each of the 3 utility modules and 3 FX adds 6 more tabs. That is 18 tabs total (each has possible mod targets) just to check to see all the possible modulation targets of a macro or other modulator.

There is a visual cue when an envelope is a mod source in that the crosshair icon is blue instead of grey. But there are no visual cues to indicate the presence of mod targets on a currently not visible tab. The only way to determine this is to tab by tab view each one.

Right click on the Osc on the routing page disables it.

Some folks enjoy looking at vintage cars. Some folks like looking at modern supercars.

Me, I have a similar reaction to seeing vintage electronic gear, as well as exotic modern electronic gear.

Whether it's synthesizers, recording studio gear, test equipment, medical electronics, industrial control panels, aircraft instrumentation panels, or exotic military electronics — whether it's ancient or ultra modern —well designed electronic equipment holds a certain charm and allure for me.

Wait, do chemical ovens have bikes that leave neon trails under the hood? That explains some of my experiences with them

Actually, the alpa of MX was targetted towards medical labs. But with gorilla mode on all the time, it didn't quite gel with them.

Since then, it's targetaudience has moved. But it hasn't lost it's inviting looks ever since. :clown:

This is a medical instrument control panel, which connects via USB:

Just relabel the buttons, add a few mod wheels, and a long horizontal ribbon controller at the bottom, and it would make an awesome VSTi controller! :hyper:
