My personal experience with PA is just very bad updating and bug fixing (BYOME) and whilst there are some good small developers in the workhouse, I will in future work with companies that support their plugins directly rather than through a 3rd party....there are so many dedicated VST web shops now I see no need for PA at all.
Thing is, I don't think PA care at all what existing customers think. Most people who have been around for a while have got what they want from PA already and won't spend a huge amount more with them. The subscription model is not for these people, most of whom probably won't join it.
It is for new users.
I just wish that one of my favourite developers, UA, had never signed up with them, as future plugins from them will be released at ridiculous prices and will probably stay that way for a much longer time under the new model.
