I have Loom I and really like it, but the small GUI is the reason I didn't upgrade to Loom II. I figured that with all that work developing an upgrade, the least they could have done was to make the new UI scalable.mooter wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2019 9:48 pm
Edit: true the first thing that came to mind when I opened it was the small gui and no resizability.
But for less than $15, hell yes I'll take it! Running the demo now and the new presets are f'n great!!!

iLok dongle not required. It works fine with the iLok License Manager software.thecontrolcentre wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2019 7:53 pmIf not for the iLok I'd be straight onto that offer ... maybe Iris2 is worth it anyway.tonedef71 wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2019 7:47 pm If you throw in a free license of iZotope Iris 2 along with Loom II, is it worth $15?

Here it is still looming and nowhere near. When attempting to download a trial version in both firefox and chrome. The point is NOT about it's not important, it does not matter, just go ahead. It's rather about being in 2019 and hitting a web site that sells merchandise and is displaying that.

OK, that works for the download. Let's then forget that the makers of this software have made an insecure web site.
Ah, so that's one of the softwares that uses that Bonjour thing. Doesn't work and a reboot, as the installation procedure says one must do before using the VST, will not change anything. This is Linux, a poor man's OS (my wallet disagrees strongly though with all the Windows VST and sound sets being bought that works very good (Tone2, Rob Papen, IK Multimedia, all Melda production, all Voxengo, Sugar Bytes, Sonic Charge, all KV331, Bitwig, etc))
And then so, ditched.

Someone has updated the website – and it looks as though it might be isolated to the dropdown menu at the top – but forgotten to change over the database from the private staging site to the public one. It's a mistake, nothing more sinister.

Bonjour is part of the setup, and does behave as Mevla stated.
I have had some success with ilok software manager, was able to
use Hybrid3 and Vacuum, but then installing Boom crashed the good luck,
and I've been low on time to redo things/investigate. Maybe during the
upcoming monsoon season. And new winestaging releases
might get lucky.
Cheers

It really is, I paid about $100 for both but I'm not unhappy. Loom is a fantastic synth, I really only want GUI resizing in it, and Iris is a great one trick pony, but that trick is absolutely unique. Worth the $50 I paid for each and definitely with the $15 people are paying now.SLiC wrote: Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:24 am Iris 2 and loom 2 for 15 bucks must be one of the best deals ever!

For me it's even more basic than that regarding using Windows VSTs in Linux (using Bitwig). The bottone line is, when I use the computer for creating music, it is about creating music in a ratio of creation over technicalities nearing 95%. So even if I would be willing to spend time trying to figuyre out how to make things run, I wouldn't. For one, no-one can predict what a plugin vendor can come up with in order to increase profit margins. So the less time spent trying to make things work and coming up with more or less successful workarounds is better. Not mentioning the time spent reading all those people coming with with all those various, lengthy workarounds.glokraw wrote: Sun Aug 11, 2019 5:05 pm I have had some success with ilok software manager, was able to use Hybrid3 and Vacuum, but then installing Boom crashed the good luck,

I remember well the times when I did not run and Windows VST and you were saying something in LM akin to I should try it out. The simplest way I found is linvst and it worked right away with a Voxengo demo plugin. And from there to continue the story my wallet can relate.
All Windows VSTs plugins I use run pretty good. There are some slight workaround with some but they're so slight that they're incorporated into the workflow. The access to all those sounds and audio processing VSTs is worthwhile.
I just need to understand very well how they all work to be able to use them in the most creative ways.
I still look out for other plugins, but it's by coincidence really. When a thread jump out mentioning a plugin. Maybe. When trying a demo though there's one all-mighty question that always arises:
Do I really need to get this plugin/sound set with all the things I have still yet to learn about the plugins I already got ?
Cheers.
