There's a derogatory word in America for a gay man, in the UK it's meatballs made from minced off-cuts and offal. Same word different meanings in the UK and America.
I had to look this up. I had no idea. I think that's hysterical. I can imagine the conversation over there.

Man 1: What you having for dinner tonight?
Man 2: Faggots.

I'm sorry but that's just hysterical.

Interesting article. I think people should spend less time being offended by everything that people say in this world and start being more offended at the things that people do to destroy this world.

Unfortunately, many things that are done to destroy the world are started with words. Do not underestimate the power of language.

I am sorry for anybody who found my song offensive. It was not meant as an attack on any person or group of persons. It was just meant as a song. I hope, with this apology, that we can drop this matter.

Thank you.
So change the offensive lyric to something else, or the apology means nothing.
So you believe in censorship?

Post

No. Do you?

I listened to the Plastic song. I thought it was a good, enjoyable song.

I was also not aware this word is offensive in the UK. In the US, it doesn't have those connotations.
wagtunes wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2019 8:45 pmA change of lyrics for this song would be impossible. What rhymes with plastic that would make any sense?
You could consider changing it to "Drastic with my Plastic."

Thanks for the listen and the feedback. Drastic kind of changes the meaning and doesn't flow as well. I could change it but I choose not to. I don't believe in censorship and I'm not caving in to people who hate my guts no matter what I do.

Oh, and the ignore feature is wonderful. I should have never removed it.

Went back to my side project for this one. 10th track so far.

Strictly Confidential

You come pokin' round here
Guess I haven't made things clear
I'm not an open book
Only thing you can do is look

So ask all the questions you can
It's strictly confidential
Other than I am a man
It's strictly confidential
Your secret pass is denied
Whoever gave it they lied
So you can travel all the land
It's strictly confidential

We've been down this road before
Ain't gonna do this no more
I'm not your personal spy
Only thing I'll do is lie

Repeat Chorus

So see yourself to the door
Don't want to see you no more
I'd rather eat dirt off the floor
Then tell you anything

Time for you to say goodbye
Don't want to see you cry
I'm not your personal spy
Only thing I'll do is lie

Repeat Chorus

7th track from my upcoming CD "In The Blink Of An Eye"

Back to my Blink project for this one. Just something silly to have some fun.

Green Tomatoes

Nothing before its time
That's what momma always said
Without a reason or rhyme
Watch out boy or you'll end up dead

Eating green tomatoes
Rotten to the core
Eating green tomatoes
Momma please give me more

Rushing things too soon
Can lead to heartache fast
Shooting for the moon
Will catch up with your past

Repeat Chorus

So only eat them red
Better yet instead
Don't eat them at all
Or you will surely fall

Instrumental Break

Repeat Bridge

Repeat Verse 2

Repeat Chorus

There was a bike messenger when I was one known as Spazz, everybody knew Spaz. Punk had happened, you know and this was what he wanted to go by. Once someone called him Scuzz and he was right offended. He looked pretty rough, a tiny guy with dental issues who didn't appear to care a whole lot about personal hygiene, but "Scuzz" he wouldn't sit still for.

one z according to my googling:
Shawn "Spaz" Via, 26, worries that a messenger union would rob him of his prized independence. "Unions have all these rules you have to put up with," he says. - ca 1999

This indicates he'll have been 15 when I first saw him on the job.

Went back to my side project for this one. Vocals have a bit of a McCartney flavor. No, I do not sing as well as Paul McCartney. Nowhere am I claiming that. So please let's not turn this into 10 pages of how lousy a singer I am and whatever else certain people are sure to bring up. I'm not in the mood for it. If you don't like the song, great. Leave your comments and move along.

As to the song itself, kind of wish I could get McCartney to sing this but I know that's never gonna happen. I think he'd do a pretty good job with it. My voice? Forget it. Which is why I do as few of these "McCartney" ballads as possible. I really don't pull them off well. I'm much better with uptempo tracks.

The Girl On 10th Avenue

When I think of the days
My mind lost in a haze
Something clicks and I start to smile
And then I think of her
Back to the way we were
She had class and she had style
But something went all wrong
Between us
I never thought the end would come
With the girl on 10th avenue

It started oh so nice
She was my only vice
Evil laugh and the fun began
But then it all went wrong
Like a bad country song
Dead and gone the day she ran
Cause something went all wrong
Between us
I never thought the end would come
With the girl on 10th avenue

Instrumental Break

Yeah something went all wrong
Between us
I never thought the end would come
With the girl on 10th avenue

8th track from my upcoming CD "In The Blink Of An Eye"

Went back to my Blink project for this one. Sounds more like Smashing Pumpkins than Blink 182 if you ask me.

Anyway, just 4 more tracks to go and this project, which has been much harder to do than I imagined it would be, will be done.

Boys Night Out

Stuck in the house driving me up the wall
Sit by the phone but my friends do not call
Going crazy
Don't mean maybe
What I need's a little
A little
A little

Boys night out
A night where we can all just scream and shout
Cause that's what this life's about
We all need that boys night out

My mama said I had to go to school
Sit at a desk and learn the golden rule
Going crazy
Don't mean maybe
What I need's a little
A little
A little

Repeat Chorus

What I need's a little

Went back to my side project. Wanted to do some acoustic guitar finger picking and this one just came to me. I was trying to make this sound as realistic as possible so I kept it very simple. Just 3 tracks. Acoustic guitar, lead vocal and flute.

By The Window

Sitting by the window
Looking outside
Watching my life
Just go on by
I don't know where it's going
But I know where it's been
Something's gotta give
If I'm gonna live
Cause I can't go on like this
Living in sin

Sitting by the window
Looking outside
Watching the time
Just slip on by
Kids are out there playing
I used to do that too
Those days are long ago
Oh how well I know
I can't go on like this
Feeling so blue

Sitting by the window
Looking outside
Wait for the end
It's been quite a ride
Funny how your life goes
Not what you were taught
You laugh at how it went
All that time you spent
Can't believe it wasn't
Like you thought

If you're referring to the song, no. It's just a song.

Is this you being an ass? Yeah, probably.

Welcome to my ignore list.
