Yes, the labelling needs to be clear.

What would you guys call a dynamic safety function which operates above 0dB? - I think what I'm looking for is a nice way to say "excess gain protection" ;)

What is wrong with "Soft Clip"? :)

Clipper currently acts linear up to 0dB, and then gradually clips the signal until +6dBFS.
But we'd love to get some feedback about this.
I would like to see it brickwalling sounds @ -0.1 dB
It's not common for effects plug-ins to clip or limit the signal at all. If we start clipping (or limiting) below 0dB, many people might experience clipping artefacts when they reopen old projects. That would be a no go.
I wouldn’t suggest to activate the clipper in legacy projects. Clearly the user found a way without destroying their hearing and/or equipment in the project, so why meddle with it at all?

That’s why in my opinion it would be nice to have the clipping option to act as a protective measure.

Generally speaking, for good gain staging, you want every channel to be <0 dB before the channel fader anyways. So I don‘t think the effect the clipper has on the sound when you arrive at 0 dB should be too much of an issue.

Are there any instructions on how to edit all the parameters of the new Modulators?

All I see is the Depth knob and parameters such as LFO Swing, Phase, Rate under a menu.

It appears we should be able to change the Depth knob to any available parameter but its eluding me.

Thanks in advance

The clipper should be off by default you mean? If so, then yes.
That way old projects will react the same and there wouldn't be an issue with a clipper @ -0dB

Unfortunately we have not reached the stage to write proper documentation as some things are still subject to change. However, the modulation concept is very similar to what we did in Hive 2.0, with few exceptions:

First off, there are no pre-wired modulation depths. There's no dedicated knob to control how much the LFO adds to whatever the effects does.

The modulation depths and targets are found in the Modulation Matrix at the bottom. Any knob can be targeted by any modulation source. You can assign via drag & drop, or right-click and chose from a list. A ModMatrix slot can even be used to modulate the depth parameter of another slot in the Matrix.

I suppose we could give it a cryptic abbreviation instead (like we did for the Presswerk option DPR), but I'm not sure it would be worth it here. I reckon SOFT CLIP describes the function well enough and is immediately understood.

Hey, side question, if you don't mind: How did you design your DRP? Is it a chain of all-pass filters? If so, how many poles; at what frequency?

"Soft Clip", "Peak Limiter"... Potato, Potato.

"Dynamic gain reduction" - Magic Potato.

Is there something like 'Constant' in Hive to allow the knob direct control?

Uhbik G in PhaseVoc mode. It doesnt report latency atm, would it be possible to add a button to make it report the correct latency? Also, i suppose it wouldnt be possible to make it do the same kind of sound but be more phase coherent? Ive tried mono-izing it and thats something, but to be able to blend in the effect with the dry wet would require it to delay the dry signal (can we have a button for that?) Because it sounds kinda nice on drums, softens up the attacks nicely and so forth.

Ive discovered this because ive used G alot to transpose the whole song while working, and when flipping back I often find I liked the drums a bit better through it. Id like to start using it, but its a hassle atm because of the above.

YES!! This is amazing news. Thank you u-he :D I am so excited!
The new interfaces look amazing <3 I just installed, and I am off to get after some alpha testing :)

I've demoed the Uhbiks before, didn't like the interfaces. The new interfaces made them an instant purchase for me, so you've definitely made the correct decision in my book.
