They gather praising reviews, but personally I don't hear much difference between softube or (name a plugin).
Their CL1B compressor is the first plugin compressor I heard that impressed me as more than a simple level-control processor. It's still one of my favorites, and my first pick for many things.

The quality of sound, customer service, style of marketing, consistent pricing, stability, and generally reasonable CPU hit of Softube plugins put them in a higher tier of software tool than most developers. None of their plugins has ever disappointed me (except the NI-variants, which have odd UI quirks/limits, for which I blame NI, not Softube). I have more use for some than others; but they are all very good.

Does anyone remember how much The Dark Zebra was in the u-he soundset sale this time last year? (How would the current 30% offer compare?)

Post

Been waiting ages for Xils PolyM to go on sale. Plugin Boutique now have it for $99 for the next week or so, but before I jump on that has anyone got wind of any other resellers going to be offering a better price than that?

I paid €69 for DZ this time last year, so it's about the same.

Thanks, I'll pass though, may be of use to others who read this.
Gamma-UT wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:05 pm Thorn is 50 bucks, no voucher. If that's what you want, why jump through hoops to pay more for it (just because it comes with stuff you don't want)? The vouchers aren't mandatory.
Thing is, I'm miffed by PA's insulting communications lately. In the past, I made sure to spend a little real cash while spending my vouchers, now I'm like "cash in the voucher and run".

My mistake, should have bought Thorn before DS Audio joined PA.

Is Algonaut Atlas available with any resellers for a better price? Not able to find it anywhere else.

Has anybody seen any BF discounts on the upgrades/crossgrades too, like DCAM -> Cypher2 or Strobe2 -> Cypher2?

AAS Ultra Analog VA-3 upgrade from Session is only 37 GBP / 44 USD at Time+SPace. If you have some loyalty points, it's even better!!!

I'm amazed at how many complaints people have made here this year about "Black Friday" being disappointing in one way or another when IT ISN'T EVEN BLACK FRIDAY YET. It's Wednesday.

If people can cast their minds back like... three or four years, Black Friday was one day.

Also plugin discounts tend to be far more generous than anywhere else. I'm mostly seeing 10% sales on synth hardware -- which some stores will just give you anytime if you ask for it. But the biggest whining has been about plugin discounts.

There are plenty of devs who aren't going any discounts at all, and never do. And that's fine.

But a dev that "only" gives a 40% discount for four entire days is somehow "Scrooge." Ooookay.

Just a heads up for anyone subscribed to East West's Creative Cloud - they've now included Sugar Bytes Aparillo if anyone was thinking of buying it in the current sale.

this is for soundsonlne right?

they BF deal is $200 for 1 yr. so 5 years will run you $1k and you still need to get a computer and a DAW on top of that. Wow...

Demand, supply, yadda, yadda. Value for money is very much in the eye of the beholder. I think a year to play with all their various products to properly evaluate what you want isn't too bad a deal.
Lots of people are down on the subscription model, but will buy a product, use it for a year and then sell it for less than what they paid or just leave it sitting on their PC unused. Do that enough times and subscribing isn't too bad a deal IMO.

My post wasn't aimed at getting people to subscribe anyway, it was meant as a heads up for those that are already subscribers and were thinking about buying Aparillo.
