But my other codemeter products have a work around to help you. For example Reason has the ability to drop the license altogether and get you a new one.
With Windows, a Restore or crash is not completely uncommon. There should be some way to get your license back. This business of "your screwed" if your system crashes is pure crap. Especially since there is no real way to back up your licenses. I would be willing to pay for a service (like I do to iLok) to save my licenses, but so far THIS is the only Codemeter product that I cannot recover.

That’s true. However a iLok dongle is justified as it is commonly used. Heck, even eLicenser gets used by major players in audio. Codemeter not so much, so buying a dongle is completely not justifiable.rlared wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 3:49 pmILok soft license is the same way... I imagine Codemeter updates by checking online from time to time. Either way the license is lost now. This REALLY sucks. You are screwed if you have to reset your computer. Here is the error when I try to "rehost":

The CmContainer with serial xxx-xxxxxxxxxx was not found. Please connect it to your PC or use file-based license transfer.

Every other license system has some form of recovery. It is just not available here. Maybe someone from Vengeance can help.
With licensing offered straight by developer things can be resolved. But if they must pay to a 3rd party, we may very well end up with lost license slots. Well see. For the moment I see no reason to update.
But then, I don’t know if 1.4.1 will be ever possible to be activated becausr in the user account is just the new activation method.
Decisions, decisions...

Thanks for the license update fix. I reactivated my licenses and the presets load without error, HOWEVER, the volume is still way too quiet on some of the presets. For instance, MU Distorted Rhythm from Guitars Vol 1 and PL Kickers from EDM 3.bM3w wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 8:10 amI second that. Just noticed it, too. No bueno.GMusic wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 8:07 amAdditionally, some presets in the new guitar expansion are saying I am missing factory content. Again Factory Library and Melodic EDM doesn't work. Other expansions I have do work just fine, like Trance Invasion, EDM 2 and more.

Ok, I have to bring this up, because I think we need to apply some pressure here.
I'm on board with better copy protection. But the new CodeMeter licenses have a 90 day expiration date, and have to be renewed every 90 days. Even if you are using a hardware key.
Manuel was up front with us about the new copy-protection. He was silent about this expiration date, almost as if he knew it would not go over well.
I'm hoping Manuel sees reason, and reverses his decision on this.

But how many people who are purchasing such expensive software and downloading gigabytes of sounds really cannot connect to the internet at least once in 3 months?teilo wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 5:29 pm Ok, I have to bring this up, because I think we need to apply some pressure here.

Seriously? You are totally missing the point. It's not about the internet.GMusic wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 5:36 pmBut how many people who are purchasing such expensive software and downloading gigabytes of sounds really cannot connect to the internet at least once in 3 months?teilo wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 5:29 pm Ok, I have to bring this up, because I think we need to apply some pressure here.

1) It's not an automatic process. Every 90 days, your software stops working, and you have to update your CodeMeter container or key. That's BS. No one else does this. I have a lot of software on iLok and eLicenser. None of them do this.
2) I bought the software. I have a permanent license to use it. Yet I have to repeatedly ask for permission to do so. It is not subscription software. That I could understand. It's a permanent license.

We are talking about different things. He is not using a dongle. He had the software license on his computer and then he formatted his computer without first removing the software license.sircuit wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 4:20 pmThat’s true. Like I said, Codemeter checks. Which is why it should be easy to get my license back. Ha.
And in terms of removing my license before doing a restore, my system would not even BOOT that far. I had to do it from the wonky Windows emergency recovery.
I had no idea where I would even begin to find the licenses for back up.
Of course the Reason license was unaffected because it was there before the Restore point.

I re-downloaded Melodic EDM expansion. The presets load now, but it's WAY TOO QUIET.
This is becoming irritating. Not only did we have to re-download all our expansions and install them again one-by-one, but even the first wave of re-downloads seem to have issues. And the second uploaded "fixed" ones still have volume issues. And the servers are being extremely slow or non-responsive.
Now I have a feeling (if they even bother fixing the volume issue anytime soon) i'll have to re-download all expansions, factory content and reinstall each one by one AGAIN for a 2nd/3rd time, since I don't think it's a Codemeter issue causing the volume issue for the presets.
