As far as the new guitar expansions go, wow, the algorithm really affects the sound. You check check different algos when making your music. Under the editor page:
ElastiquePro - very clicky sounding
ElastiqueEff - less clicky
Timefreeze - no clicks, but also makes the guitars sound way less realistic sounding and removes a lot of the high end.

Ping is fine (which would not affect download speed anyway, but that's another topic)...ReboundAudio wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 2:53 pmAlso can't confirm that. i've downloaded the content this moment with full speed. Maybe you have a bad ping and reboot your internets connection or try www.speedtest.net if you have really 1Gbit actually.EnochLight wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 2:50 pm VPS servers are... "meh". I have fast 1 Gigabit download internet. I've always had a slow time downloading the Factory content - it usually takes on average an hour, while the installer for Avenger itself takes 10 minuts or so - for a 62.5 MB file.![]()

But the Factory content file today? It's expected to take 1 day to 27 hours!!!![]()

This is unacceptable, man. VPS needs to step up their server game - their ISP - something. I'm in the US, which I'm willing to wager is a large chunk of VPS's customer base.
True, overseas servers do run slower - when the company handles their infrastructure poorly. There are ways to populate mirror servers for your customer base all over the world so people on one side of the planet don't have to rely on optical fiber buried under the ocean to download content.bM3w wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 3:59 pm I'm in the US as well and download speeds from Vengeance servers have always been slower than average, but they are particularly slow since the update was released. I assume their servers are getting hammered and can't handle the additional load well.
Keep in mind that server connections from overseas are usually much slower than when you're located where the servers are. Assuming you're downloading from Germany your experience can't really serve as a benchmark for download speeds from the US.
This is VPS being cheap, plain and simple. No offense to Manuel, but VPS download speeds have always been crappy on this side of the planet. I really wish they'd address this.

Do 3rd party expansions still work with v1.5?

This is unbelievable... can someone confirm this? it is true? the copy protection needs to verify each 3 months and it stop working? I never have seen something like this, avenger users have lost completely their synth already if this is true.teilo wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 5:37 pmSeriously? You are totally missing the point. It's not about the internet.GMusic wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 5:36 pmBut how many people who are purchasing such expensive software and downloading gigabytes of sounds really cannot connect to the internet at least once in 3 months?teilo wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 5:29 pm Ok, I have to bring this up, because I think we need to apply some pressure here.
I'm on board with better copy protection. But the new CodeMeter licenses have a 90 day expiration date, and have to be renewed every 90 days. Even if you are using a hardware key.
Manuel was up front with us about the new copy-protection. He was silent about this expiration date, almost as if he knew it would not go over well.
I'm hoping Manuel sees reason, and reverses his decision on this.
1) It's not an automatic process. Every 90 days, your software stops working, and you have to update your CodeMeter container or key. That's BS. No one else does this. I have a lot of software on iLok and eLicenser. None of them do this.
2) I bought the software. I have a permanent license to use it. Yet I have to repeatedly ask for permission to do so. It is not subscription software. That I could understand. It's a permanent license.

You need to setup a few more and make sure the Factory content is on them. While I'm able to get smaller Expansions (like the 483 MB Techno 1 Expansion) within a matter of minutes, the 5.8 GB Factory content - which we need to run 1.5 - is set to take 1 full day. That's just ridiculous, man. You guys seriously need to host the Factory content on multiple servers world-wide. It always takes ages to download this thing (and I have Gigabit internet service). It's like you guys specifically host the Factory content on one single server buried at the bottom of the Marianas Trench.msvs wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 1:49 pm at the moment there are just too many users and customers. Its insane. So please be a bit patient with downloading
we are already setting up a 2nd downloadserver, should be all better in 3-5 hours.

you must imagine that all customers load this. This are several thousand TB I guess. But this is only a temporary peak. Will be back finde in the next days. Maybe a downloadmanager with multiple threads works?

No, you misunderstand - what I am saying is that the Factory content has always been super slow to download, even prior to the 1.5 launch. I understand that it is worse now with the recent launch, but a complete day? That's harsh.msvs wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 6:33 pm you must imagine that all customers load this. Is there any way you can upload it to some more mirror servers over in the US, at least for launch weekend?

I purchased the 5 pack from Sweetwater and used one for the Guitar 1 expansion. It's great, so I picked up Guitar 2 and might even pick up Guitar 3! I can see myself using this all the time!
Some things I'd like to see in the future:
1) Ability to quantize the key changes while playing from a keyboard. . . it doesn't seem to respect the quantize settings right now. If I play a key change in between the grid it changes immediately which I don't want sometimes.
2) Fret noise when changing.
3) Ability to transpose above the recorded chord, so if i play an octave higher it sounds an octave higher. Right now it only plays the chord "as recorded" so it's limited to one octave.

By the way, the download speeds are "hit or miss". Sometimes I'm getting really fast downloads, sometimes it's insanely slow. Will definitely level out in the next few days

What part of the world are you located? I'm in the US near Detroit, MI. Download speeds for the smaller Expansions (500 MB or smaller) are acceptable, taking a few minutes. The 5.8 GB Factory content is the one that's simply ridiculous.rlared wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 6:47 pm By the way, the download speeds are "hit or miss". Oregon, USA. I downloaded (2) 1.2 gig expansions in like 10 minutes about 30 minutes ago. But now it's downloading slow again. So it just depends on how many people are downloading at the exact moment I guess.EnochLight wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2019 6:49 pmWhat part of the world are you located? I'm in the US near Detroit, MI. Also now I'm more comfortable with the Codemeter. It actually works pretty nicely once you get the hang of it, although it's not exactly the most "idiot-proof" system at the moment. Definitely VPS could have done a much better job in making it clear everything that needs to be done to avoid the headaches we've all had.
