I usually prefer Rolands, Moogs never spoke to me that much. But that's just personal preferences.

My personal opinion on this is, that it doesn't really matter which exact synth(s) you're using, they just have to be sonically, feature- and workflow wise up your alley so i don't need exact replications of some old synths of yore.
What i'd rather like to see if someone loosely approximated the basic sound of let's say a Juno or some other nice sounding stuff (or something completely unique sounding based on nothing in particular, as long as it's sounding nice), give it 3 oscillators, 3 envelopes, two multimode filters, MSEG, maybe patchable in a modular way, or the worfklow of something like Massive or Serum.
And there are plenty of those. This is meant to be an emulation of a particular Roland synth. If that doesn't interest you, there are plenty of synths out there that will.

Or if it DOES interest him, then we're all systems go!!!

Why so much aggressivity in so many posts ?

Not mine, I'm being positive about the synth. Why not?

Don't worry, my post was just after yours but didn't at all concern your posts.

Isn't the RS-505 another string synth? Seems a bit of an odd choice when the only other Roland Xils Labs has modelled is the VP-330.

Lotuzia, hope you saw what I said about the tiny sequencer. I know comparisons with Arturia are a sore point, but they really have you beat on the UI with the hide/show controls screens and their preset manager is way easier to use too.

I have nothing but love for the Xils synth sounds though.

Xavier chose the VP-330 not only for its string-synth part... but also for its famous vocoder part.

And the RS-505 is one of my dreams, as all the best string-synths which came in the 70s-80s. It is even with the string-synths that I began my synth passion (I had bought a Farfisa Syntorchestra in 1977, a Moog Opus-3 in 1982, and a Korg Mono/Poly (yes, it was paraphonic few people know that) around 1985, and I have played for a long time a Korg Trident but not owning it myself).

(The answer given before was a bit ambiguous so lets make it clear this time.)

Is it L-Z or M-Z ?
It was M-Z, sorry if it wasn't clear enough/
It was a bit ambiguous due to the way the question was asked, but thanks for clearing it up.

PS: My money was on something from moog. Would not have guessed Roland.

String synths are fine, but I must say out of the RS-505 and the MKS-80 I'd far prefer the latter, especially with an emulated MPG-80.

I voted MKS-80 and didn't get a PM about winning so...

Well, I've yet to hear a Roland synth that I like the sound of so most likely I'll have zero interest in this emulation.

I still want to know where the "rare" is.
System-700 is VERY rare.

As an owner of a real MKS-80, I have to say I would love to have a software version of it, but with some improvements, like, for example, the multimode filter of the Jupiter-6, instead of the Low-Pass only as the MKS-80 has.
