Ah, didn't know that. Well, it's probably just that it needs the registry settings then.Ben | KvR wrote:The CPU in Receptor is an Athlon XP 2500+, which does support SSE AFAIK.tconrardy wrote:Got an answer from Dave of White Noise Audio:

I think the problem with doppelmangler is that it needs to have some registry settings so that it can find it's artwork (just copying the dll won't work).. Same goes for Zero Vector. ZV probably crashed because receptor doesn't do SSE instructions.
=====================
Edit: It shouldn't be to hard to make them compatible if anyone is interested in using them on the receptor.

Thanks Dave. One possible solution is to have a "fixed" GUI version for Receptor users. While making it less flexable, but able to actually play the sounds would be great. I am willing to give it a try.PM me if interested.

Unfortunately, right now there is no way for a customer to change the registry settings. We will think of something for a later version.tconrardy wrote:Got an answer from Dave of White Noise Audio:

We could look into making a receptorized version of Zero Vector. May I suggest that you start a new thread about freeware plug-ins that cannot be used as Unsupported plug-ins and you would like to see a receptorized version. Try to prioritize them. This would help us decide which free plug-ins to include in future versions.

Just tried a bunch of plugins and here is my report. These DO NOT INSTALL:
Ukas ( SE)
Augar
Sunra ( SE)
Sytrus
Stringer (SE)
Republican (SE)
StringThing (SE)
Stealth (SE)
Synth1
Tried Dash Signitures Abstract Guitar. It installed, but would not instantigate.Had to delete it. It created an even bigger problem.( which is why Musers say to install at your own risk) IT TOOK OUT EVE and KNAGIS ( can't spell it)...rather..they do not show up on the list anymore, so something must have happened to the registration on these plugs when installing the other Dash plug ( Abstract Guitar)Musers: Can you help? Anything I can do to get these plugins back? I did try installing my copy of EVE via the unsupported method, but it failed. HELP!!
That what I get for being a guini...er...muser pig
However..I am happy to report that OXE-FM Synth synth works..but does not load the presets, but looking into that part.

You could try installing using the original installers again. It may work...tconrardy wrote:IT TOOK OUT EVE and KNAGIS ( can't spell it)...rather..they do not show up on the list anymore, so something must have happened to the registration on these plugs when installing the other Dash plug ( Abstract Guitar)Musers: Can you help? Thanks..I hope this will do the trick, but just discovered it was worse then I thought: it took out ALL the demos of the premium plugins as well as ALL my registered premium plugins: ALL of them! Yips!
I don't think I want to do any more testing for now .

Downloaded all the plugins again from plugarama. They are .MRPK files. Dropped them in the installer folder on Receptor. They ALL failed.
also: I hear the fan or HD go up and down sound wise..is that normal?
EDIT: However, I am still happy with my Receptor because most of my fav plugs still work on it: M42 Nebula, Rhino, Symtohm mellohman, White Noise Additive, UGO synths, WOF, ect, I can still make a lot of music even without those other plugs that got dis-installed: just would like to see if I can get them working again.( especially EVE since I am now designing EVE sound sets)

I am considering Receptor, but am now an avid Sampletank user since I got recently hooked on Sonic Reality sound sets. I use the following Sampletank versions: 1-LE, 2-LE, and "1-free".
I know that IK Multimedia uses a complicated authentication scheme for SampleTank, so I'm guessing that the only way to use Sampletank in Receptor is to wait for IK to offer a crossgrade to the Receptor platform.
Can anyone confirm my suspicions, and/or provide any information on the possibility of IK Multimedia supporting this system? Also, in general, are there issues with using sample based instruments in Receptor?
Thanks

well...EVE is on it which is a sample based plug. I also got Symtohm Mellohman to work which is also sample based. You basically use the sample Directory to put your samples into, then redirect the plugin to see that path. Symtohm has a dialog to do just that.
However I would post on the "Plugs you want receptorized thread" for the sample machine you want on receptor so musers can see the list.

It's a commercial plugin.

Most of his new development is Mac OSX only, but Phatmatik Pro is a killer beat slicer. Very cool plugin.
You going to AES?
