Hey guys,
I've recently bought SM1 and I love it but I'm no synth master (
I'm looking at the synth riff at around 01:20 mark.
All the best
Hey thanks for your response, whilst it wasn't particular helpful in any way, at least you made the effort. As for musical tastes, I find that diversity is the spice of life and applies in this instance also. Why people seem to hate on things that don't 'touch' them is beyond me. Some (a lot) like this music, just get over it.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Tue Mar 17, 2020 8:00 pm Don't get me wrong, but why so many 'modern' stuff use absolutely lifeless, mechanical sounds - what you seek to my taste has absolutely no emotion, passion, soul, color whatever terminology or words are usually used to describe how sound touch you or not...why would somebody try to recreate such thing?Use something that fit emotionally your track :)Cheers![]()
Thanks for the detailed response! I doubt he used it too, just wanted some guidance to achieve the sound or a sound near to it, which you've given meclaudedefaren wrote: Sun Mar 29, 2020 8:53 pm The main feature of the sound is sine shaping distortion, which SMOne can't do. You'll need a good waveshaper/sine-shaper to achieve the sound. If you have Reaktor, you have sine shapers in the blocks.
In SMOne, layer a low octave saw wave with another saw wave tuned an octave up. 2 voice unison, slight detune, wide spread. Use some distortion effect in SMOne, and then add a third party sine shaper after the SMOne plugin instance to really dial in the sound. There's some enveloping going on, possibly even on the sine shaper. EQ down the 300hz area and some of the 1000hz area. That's about it!
But to be honest, I doubt very much that Extra Terra used SMOne to make that sound.
