i can't check it, because i have v6, and it is €99. still in doubt. but €33,333333333 etc for 3 synths ain't bad. great synths. why didn't i upgrade earlier, invested at the time of the sale, too much in other things..

if v8 comes in december, i will buy it now. the synthi is what i like, o, the other two also...

and i am very satisfied arturia customer (bug reports are taken very seriously and in the next update, implemented, i have experienced myself. ableton is also very good, but it took a half year, before the bug i found, is now in the beta, the solution that is...) and i like the sound of all synths, problably i do not hear what others hear, with blankets and so...
To be honest, I have V Collection 7 myself. I was contemplating about selling it and grabbing a cheaper V Collection 4 for now, since it has a few synths of my interest. This will make it possible for me to upgrade to V Collection 7 or 8 later directly, hopefully for $99, when the sale happens again. I know, a bit of a gamble and a mixed bag of feelings for V Collection for me, since I am not using it much right now. But I certainly see the potential of at least some of them getting used.

As far as Arturia is concerned, I full agree with you. I have raised quite a few bug reports and other requests and have always received satisfactory answers. This is one reason I have quite a few of their products, including KeyLab MKII, V Collection 7 and Pigments 2.
it is a gamble, but if this is the only way you gamble... v4 is still a nice collection. i saw it for sale for $50 here on KVR, collection 7 is now, with sale, i only can gamble, worth €175? i make my prices always lower. i don't sell much by the way. i buy, what i already now, by demo, or via others. only thing that i bought, although great, i can't sell... a reason rack. the complex-1, beatiful sound. but i have 3 modular ecosystems, no 4.... o well, it can be that i will use it, but my eyes! and those cables... even with reaktor i can see it clearly.

but back to arturia. you can sell me v7 for a nice price, i sell v6 for nice price... haha. no, i thought sometimes about it, when there was no sale.

still in doubt, i guess v8 will come december, but if it comes in april, it is lost money. i have now the money for it. (after buying software for 400 or 500, it must be more... in a few months... ow well the last half year of last year, i bought a lot, a lot. i all use it. cherry picked. sounddesign magic kingdom, with seperate programs, but i don't care, it is like a real studio, completely ITB by the way, of course 2 mikes and a guitar.. but that doesn't really count.)

again back to arturia, you can get still updates if you own v5, or v6, or you, you get, even synclavier version 2, although it isn't called v2, if i remember correctly. nice update policiy for older collections.

Yeah, that's right.

I think you buying V Collection 7 from me and then selling V Collection 6, only to get V Collection 8 later will do no good in terms of money I believe, which is the same case for me if I upgrade to V Collection 8, be it from 4 or 7.

VC6 came in Dec-2017, VC7 in May-2019, so VC8 should be in Dec-2020 going by this cycle. Also, we don't know if it will really be released this year. If it is, whether the new additions will be of interest cannot be said. But they mostly seem to be when they run the promotions. :hihi:

I think I should skip thinking about all this for now and just be happy with my V Collection 7.

And regarding Arturia update policy for synths, absolutely, it is quite generous that whatever V Collection you are on, you still get the latest updates for all the synths and Analog Lab.

yes agree, but sometimes you look for the cheapest way to upgrade. with melda, when there is a bundle sale, i can get a cheap deal.. now... selling v6 isn't a good idea.

in the facebook group, i stated the wrong release dates, i thought it was always april or may, i checked;

release date v collection 4: 15 december 2015
release date v collection 5: 19 may 2016
release date v collection 6: 5 december 2017
release date v collection 7: 25 april 2019

so it isn't predictable.

be happy with v7, also for your eyes... and i use not all synths, of course not, but still 12 of the 21, i really use. sometimes a solina.

me thinks i will go for it, the synthi, and the casio! and the mellotron! (the last one seems not so interesting, but i am deep in sounddesign, so it can be wonderfull).

Post

In case it still helps:

I have V Collection 5 and currently have a €99 upgrade under "My Account" (on the Arturia website).

Yeah, but I would be surprised if they release V Collection 7 in the next couple of months.

Indeed. All the 3 new instruments in V Collection 7 are awesome, especially CZ and Mellotron for me.

I will stick to V Collection 7 and just hide ALL the synths, because Analog Lab 4 is the best. It keeps everything tidy and things look more manageable than looking at 24 different synths. And then we also have Komplete Kontrol. :)

haha, yeah komplete kontrol. i use it via maschine mk3. but i map the arturia synths with... automap... with 2 different controllers... hardware feel... not all is doable, but even cs80 i have complete control over it, not in multi mode, that is too much and i don't use it. even the matrix 12.. the synclavier, it depends too much on the screen, the computer screen in your computer screeen... so i mapped only the important things.
but the komplete control mappings are useable. and yes, v4, isn't NKS. NKS i like, i like control, that's why i have different controllers.

hide all the synths, haha. why not. it gives you focus. have a great time, in these times...

i will jump into v7, i deserve it! haha, GAS (i have it better under control, because i have most things... and i unsuscriped from many newsletters).

I own V5 and for me it shows the 199€ crossgrade offer, which is weird. Usually it's 99€ for upgrades during these sales. If you log into your account you should see your special offer.

Cool, nice to know that.

Haha, I think you want VC7 badly. I guess you could wait until the next similar sale, which would happen twice again this year. This way you could directly get VC8 if it is released. It's difficult, but you can do it.

yes KVR does not help, but i manage to lower to more than a half, that is quite a progress.

i read about, it isn't a real grace period or they call it something else, but it states that it only applies to the the full retail version, bought via arturia (not via a reseller). and not to upgrades, strangely enough. that's what i understand.

yes there will be more sales, as always.

Hey guys quick question! I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on V Collection 7 with the sale that is going on. It looks like on my Arturia profile I can get it for $200 since I also own Analog Lab 4. It says on it that it is a "crossgrade" does that mean I will lose Analog Lab 4 if I go this route? Looking to make V Collection an addition to Analog Lab not instead of it, although it looks like V Collection 7 comes with Analog Lab though so I should be fine right? Just want to check. Looking to get Pigments soon too. Definitely on the Arturia hype train right now lol.

Haha thanks! I was thinking probably not, but the term “cross grade” confused me so wanted to be sure!

You mean 8, but when the current version goes on sale, the new version is not far off. Maybe around summer.
And most likely they'll have 3 new vst's for us in the new version.
