Tbh....respectively for me, there is no the best...

As always there are DAWs making X very well while being poor at Y... there is for me not a single DAW doing it all... but at the very end they are all useable in this regard... 8)

I'm not saying it does the same or more. Just wanted to share this peculiarity I've not seen elsewhere. Also 50% is not accurate, because - AFAIK - you can't randomize a straight line of automation points in neither. So while Bitwig definitely is behind in terms of reshaping already existing automation, it pulls ahead in terms of actually creating it. And, as I said, this feature can be used for ANYTHING you can multiselect in Bitwig.

I already said Live is IMO the best for automation, followed by S1: viewtopic.php?p=7727933#p7727933

2 things in that video that I know you can do in Reaper are adjusting automation points by right clicking and manually entering values and you can select a range or clip of automation points and reduce the amount. It brings up a box with the amount of points displayed in it. You can then manually type a different number in (I think?) or was there an amount slider? Can you draw or paste in automation shapes though in Reaper?
Yes and yes.

Reason certainly isn't the best DAW in many areas, but in automation nothing rivals it when it comes to uniformity and ease of doing so.
Have you tried Vital?

Chaos is the phenomenon when estimation error grows to infinity.

Not saying Ableton is best in this regard by any means, but envelope manipulation introduced in version 10 is quite something.
Or can't really tell, as I don't even use all its features in my workflow. I'm too lazy or not enough imaginative to create complex automation curves for sound design.

I like Ableton a lot in this regard.

That's actually Alt+click. Right click just opens a context menu.

Well they are not wrong since you get the Edit Automation option there, it's usually the first option.

Anyway for me S1 has the best automation tools. S1 gives you several ways to add automation curves, from the A button, to the Hand button, to just hitting Alt-A after clicking on any parameter in a plugin. The transform tools, the different curves etc. It's just really comprehensive, all it needs is automation clips so we can easily save the automation and reload if we want to. It can kind of be done now but its not as easy as something like Reason.
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine

I meant Alt+click is faster, because you don't have to go to Edit Automation :)
