Think I have good news for composers/arrangers, but can't reveal anything yet.

Sounds like my wife
- I don't know what I want - surprise me!
- that isn't what I wanted!
The only thing we can be sure of is that whatever they do it won't be enough and the needs of people who use Bitwig as a second 'specialist' DAW are totally different to those who want that 'one DAW' solution.
But what the heck- I will stick my neck out and say 'I want'...
Midi Grid (even though I am not really sure what that will be
Some form of comping as I like to play audio in live sometimes and not use midi (even though I will still probably use S1 if am working predominantly with live instruments)
Bitwig has a long way to go to rival the main linier DAWS with linier editing in one update, so I guess the choice is do you want a 'bit better' (but not best in class) 'standard' audio and midi editing or total new and novel ways of doing things?
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Let me guess - Bitwig adds even more stuff useless for composers/arrangers, so they can finally give up waiting, move on and focus on other DAWs?excuse me please wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:51 pm Think I have good news for composers/arrangers, but can't reveal anything yet.

Clearly, what all right-thinking Bitwiggers want is Bitwig-Chan... like FL-Chan but with bright orange hair, of course

MSEG modulator, MIDI out from Grid, alias/linked clips, sequencer step input, GPU acceleration - you know, stuff most Bitwig users ask forexcuse me please wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2020 1:06 pmWhat do you regard as being useless stuff for composers?
BTW, why you refuse to use quotation feature?

Interesting, I'm afraid my simple brain does not fathom the 'linked clips' feature. I've consulted answers/bitwig, but I still have no clue what it means.
Btw I am not a scroll freak.

Well, it's all in the name. You have a clip. When you copy/paste or duplicate it with some dedicated modifier key, the duplicate becomes LINKED to the source clip, i.e. whatever you change in either is also reflected in the other. Yes, I know you can loop clips, etc. but it's not the same, i.e. try to inserting other clip(s) or silence in the middle of that loop? The loop's gonna get broken and will no longer update.excuse me please wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2020 1:29 pmInteresting, I'm afraid my simple brain does not fathom the 'linked clips' feature. @xbitz - preemptively, I'm aware about Reason Rack VST and its various sequencer REs

I like the concept of the Pitch-12 modulator, but it doesn't work reliably. If you use it on notes with some release time, the pitch jumps back down on note off. I also notice a tiny pitch shift with the micro-pitch device sometimes... both of those still need a bit of work.antic604 wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:31 pmThat's not what I meant. Otherwise I like 3.1
Improved performance (Mac in this case) is always welcome. Note chase is very useful. Some useful new Grid modules, Quick Draw and Quick Slice, Controller improvements. I think the interactive help is a solid benefit for new users. Then the Vocoder is a happy addition for me. All together, I think 3.1 was a solid update.
It's just becoming a longer period of time for 3.2
