You can kinda sorta add devices to mixer via options.txt:

I know about it but it makes session view useless and it's buggy, check the "Dedicated Mixer Window
" topic in AL beta forum

This should be simple as pie to implement.

Yes, this would be so awesome. Bitwig is great because of this, among other things. I don't think Ableton would have major problems implementing this seamlessly into the existing design.

I've lost confidence that this feature will come to Ableton at any point in
the coming few years, if ever. And I refuse to buy Ableton's argument that
a simple "Mix" button next to the existing Track Delay and I/O buttons,
which would turn Session View into a dedicated Mix View, is some sort of
insurmountable coding task.

Bitwig has made amazing progress in the past year, adding more advanced
time-stretching algorithms than those in Ableton, and most recently
updating its Sampler to be more powerful than Ableton's as well.
Personally, I'm looking elsewhere.

This is probably my biggest gripe with the *rainbows* - around 5k it gets grey and stays like that. I don't think I ever saw frequency spectrum represented like that? It looks 'wrong' in the EQs, but even worse in filter knobs where it kicks in at 1/4 or 1/3 of the turn.

I really hope it can be disabled, at least for knobs.

It would be great to have a shortcut to Toggle Audition Notes ON/OFF (nickallen & abique) :tu:

You'll probably have to wait until v3.5 or 4 for that, because it's apparently more important to have 2/3 of shortcuts for things no one uses or asked for. Not to mention they're cryptically named, like 'switch mode' that toggles between Clip Launcher and Arranger or the mythical 'toggle active' that all new users are trying to re-map to 0 (zero) ;)

It's a positive to have a few Bitwig developers active in this forum during the beta. It may allow us to get some smaller feature requests added! :)

These shortcuts for VSTi has been request first time on 2015. And in fact, many do use them. Something what you don't need, is gold for other people. Not everything is for you, even you seems to expect so. Bitwig developers don't own you anything. If they want to make colorful EQ or shortcuts, then they do it. Deal with it or move on. If you don't like your Bitwig, you can always go to use your Live, Reason, S1 or million other DAW's you have. No need to feed negative atmosphere here.

Hi. I tried to install the beta and couldn't find any offline option, so I went and uninstalled both 3.13 and 3.2, thinking a fresh beta reinstall would work. But now neither version will install with an offline option. Also after reinstalling 3.13 it reverted to 8 track. What is this new guy here screwing up? Thanks---

Everyone: Composer-Focused Update
Bitwig: Yet another EQ!
Everyone: Fix this, fix that
Bitwig: You... You guys want another EQ again? Sure!
Everyone: We're all going back to Live
Bitwig: Introducing...EQ8+

Okay I'm being sarcastic. I'm just happy they're moving things forward.

Man are you ok? Something happened to you lately ? You can write me a pm if you are passing through a rough patch... But I dont think taking it out here is a way to deal with it.
I can understand if you didn't like what was in the update, but noone forced you to buy the update, you did yourself, and just trashing on the devs work is not nice man, they are probably going out of their way to have a great program for everybody, but you know what? Development takes time...
There's just no way around it... And bitwig is not a hundred dev strong team, they are a small team, even so they managed to make such an innovative and fun piece of software, and they probably have some big things in store that they are working on in parallel to this update.

You have to be online the first time you use a fresh beta install. It has to check if your upgrade plan is active. No way around it.
Regarding your other issue I have no clue.

It not sure it was 'everyone' a few dozen people from this forum posted they wanted it though

Here is the last official poll (I remember) with almost 2000 votes...https://www.poll-maker.com/results1906611x31565b0C-51

Track freeze, Time-stretch in Sampler, Comping and Ghost clips were by far the most featured requests (those 4 were almost 40% of most wanted features). Advanced midi editing got 5%.

I'm not sure how many licenced users there are in Bitwig world, but there are 46 thousand Facebook followers, so portably a few more than come here!

The cumulative updates from V1 to V2 were massive, same again with V2- V3...I am sure when we look back and see what was added by the time we get to V4 it will also be pretty impressive! (personally I am just upgrading on the big numbers!)

X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I agree - the progress they have made so far is impressive, Bitwig 3 is amazing and will only continue to improve - just not exactly how each user wants it to :)

I like that they gave the option for the tool device to bottom out. But is no one bothered by the fact that the meter of the tool device yellows at -28 dB and not -18 dB like the small meters? It makes the big tool meter kinda useless and annoying tbf.
