I swear, I am amazed by the amount of DAWs in existence. Before the beta started I knew maybe half the DAWs I know now

I'll take a look at it at some point, but are rather busy right now (maybe big update tonight...? who knows 8) ) As you say I might not be able to use the demo verison, that would make you important as a tester. If you're up for it you can fill in the bugreport on my website with your email, so we can communicate that way

Version 2.0.19 Beta is up

The big change in this version is Unison! :)
Instead of triggering one voice, you now have the ability to trigger 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 12 voices!
Furthermore, these voices can be panned over the stereo field and detune against one another, like you'd expect from unison. On top of this, a "unison-index" modulation source was added, so you can modulate the unison stack in whatever way you like.

Thanks to tomx2188 for the great suggestion as well as some pre-testing-testing :tu:

Apart from Unison, this version removes the amp-width parameter and replaces it by amp-velocity.

The width-param was meant to somewhat emulate what unison is doing now. When I implemented it, I removed amp-vel, so I put it in place again.

Modulation Source "Aftertouch" was split up into "Channel Pressure" and "Aftertouch" (poly)
Sadly, I already know poly-aftertouch still isn't working, I am on it :scared:

Finally, the specdraw-crosshair was fixed to be in the right position.

Full Changelog:

- implemented Unison
- removed amp-width parameter
- added amp-velocity parameter
- added "Unison index" modulation source
- split "Aftertouch" modsource into "Aftertouch" and "Channel Pressure"
- lowered default master-volume to -7dB
- increased oscillator-octave range to [-4, 4]
- fixed specdraw crosshair alignment

Erisian wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 7:34 pm Both myself and SeBaer have this problem
Should be fixed now!
Apratim wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2020 6:36 pm well seems like the width knob dosent like high frequency high harmonic waveform.
Gracefully fixed the bug by removing the feature :D

Nicely done too! Thanks. :tu:

@TheWaveWarden
Are you planning on adding a reverb as well to the effects section?

Yeah, an on-board reverb would be pretty sweet. With the sounds Odin is capable of, a reverb would fit rather nicely IMO. :tu:

Re reverb - this chap agrees

Right now I have no plans to add it - might change if more people need it. I always thought of the reverb as something that you add in your DAW, but of course then you can't embedd it into a patch.

Also, theres a wide range between a good and a bad reverb. Me nailing a good reverb as just a module in a synth... dunno about that one

Cool video, didn't see that one yet :tu:

Russell Grand wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 1:43 am I wish I had more hepful info but after a week of testing Odin2, I have no bugs to report. Everything works a-okay on Windows 8.1 in FL Studio 12.5, FL Studio 20, and Studio One 4. Next I'm gonna try Odin in Cakewalk Bandlab and Waveform.

Love this synth! The sound is excellent and the GUI is great. I've made a bunch of patches with it! 8)
Hi, It would be interesting if you could share your patches, for those of us who do not understand what the synthesis flow is like, we can have a basis to experiment and experience.
Regards

My patches are nothing special really, but yes, I'll definitely share them! :D

Lol...... saw the width knob parameter update.
Was just gonna suggest to add a voice parameter to other oscillator Instead of exclusive to one oscillator type ....but hey will see if global voice control work
REAPER, Phase Plant , Unfiltered Audio TRIAD and LION, NI classic collection,......... ETC

yes! thank you! :-)

I don't understand why people want reverb within a free soft synth when there's all kinds of free reverbs out there where the developer was focusing just on making a good reverb?

just as an example:
if, for example, the reverb tail or any other reverb parameter can be modulated by the mod matrix,
evelopes, modwheel etc etc etc it might add up for sonic expression....

imho it's not really necessary, but *can* be a nice and welcome addon

True. It is lovely to have the possibility to mod the dry/wet knob by an envelope, or osc. Weird fm 'fx' on your fx can be so cool
