When did VST vs. bridging happen? 10 or 11?telecode wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 3:03 pmIf I am reading this correctly and comparing it correctly, the main selling point of Reason 11 is the software instruments ?autodafe wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 6:52 amNo, AFAIK...telecode wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 2:51 am Does Reason suite have anything similar to Max for Live included in it?
here's a complete "compare" list with everything that's included...
https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason/buy
Code: Select all
Reason 11 Suite Ableton 10 Suite Cubase Pro 10.5 $719.00 $545.00 $255.00 sounds ? 5000 3000 sounds size (G) 24 70 ? software instruments 28 15 8 audio effects 31 55 76 midi effects 7 17 18
It is a low-CPU DAW as well. The thing I have really liked about Reason is I could run it on almost any Windows computer. 4GB RAM? No problem! And everything was all in one. Now they allow external VST's and it may not be as stable? I guess it depends on the instruments/effects. But years ago, it was a great set of instruments that could be bridged to work in your DAW. And you can set up combos of instruments and effects that will run as a single instrument, like a really cool synthesizer.
Also, they had DrRex before you could import REX files into your DAW and adjust them, DrRex would do that. Change key? No Problem.
Now, it still does all this, plus the Rack instruments and effects can be loaded as VSTs rather than bridged. But many of the things that made it cool, a DAW can do now without a problem. But it is still mostly light to use and, well, the back of the rack is still pretty cool to play with. Especially if you remember the fun of using patchbays.

Can anybody please clarify me about Izotope upgrades?
I have "Music Production Bundle 2" in my account, is it now called "Music Production Suite 3" or whatever? What is the "tonal Bundle"
What's my best Upgrade path to get the "Suite 3?" ot to update my "Bundle 2" to any new version?
(I already have other "stand-alone" stuff like Iris, BreakTweaker, Stutter Edit and son on)
i am lost with Izotope different bundles....

This is insane!!! Good Friday is already gone, right?WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 1:52 pm Bear in mind that at some point this year, maybe Good Friday, it will go on sale for less (maybe $39), but right now the Samples From Mars 'ALL THE SAMPLES FROM MARS' bundle is reduced to $69 (usually $99).
https://samplesfrommars.com/products/al ... -from-mars
I've been wanting it ever since I bought XO and thought what the hell, it's insane value anyway.
Just downloaded and unzipped it all and pointed XO at the folder...
114105 new samples found!
I did a quick search and saw old news that it was available for $39 in February 2020. I wonder if the same deal will happen again this year. I can replace any and all useless samples from my collection with these brilliant samples.

I have not been able to figure them out. I also have Music Production Suite 2, Nectar 3 Advanced, Neutron 3 Standard, Ozone 9 Advanced and RX7 Standard. I thought I had the tonal bundle, but they are offering it for $199 as an upgrade. Or $399 for the MPS 3 upgrade. When I have everything in MPS 3.autodafe wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 5:44 pm Can anybody please clarify me about Izotope upgrades?

What they did tell me is that when you upgrade from single products to a bundle, only one of the products is used to upgrade. You can sell the rest. The thing is? They all still show in my iLok account as separate products. I am not sure what I can sell and what I can't. It's really hard to track.
Edit: I also still have licenses for Ozone 6, 8 elements, 8 advanced and 9 advanced. I don't think they know what's going on.

What a coincidence! I just download that collection, but it does not seem as good as the Samples from Mars (ignoring the size of collection, of course) to me. What do you think?WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 6:18 pmThere's always this as well if you thought that was a bargainLoveEnigma18 wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 5:49 pmThis is insane!!! I would not mind spending for a collection like ALL THE SAMPLES FROM MARS. What's your general thought after downloading it? There are multi-sampled synths for Kontakt in the form of NKIs as well, right?

I've only just got them, but they seem very good and actually there's little overlap with the drum synths covered by the Reverb collection. Not even looked at the synths yet, that's probably something for the (long) weekend.

or maybe supercollider or puredata is more your speed. . .

Sounds good, thanks. If I get ALL THE SAMPLES FROM MARS, I surely won't bother about the Reverb collection even if there's little overlap. Don't ask me why, you know it!WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 6:33 pm I've only just got them, but they seem very good and actually there's little overlap with the drum synths covered by the Reverb collection. I think the Reverb collection's a pretty good source of dry unprocessed classic drum sounds. A lot of those shitty sounds really come to life when you start whacking effects on them - Boz Transgressor 2 is ace here. I'd advise you to try that before you dismiss them completely.

Guess that's why I dismissed them. But thanks for the suggestion, I will give them a try. They might work good for layering too.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 6:44 pm I think the Reverb collection's a pretty good source of dry unprocessed classic drum sounds. I had the MPS2.1 and I thought there was an upgrade to MPS 3. MP3 includes Neutron 3, Ozone 9, Vocal Synth 2, Nectar, etc. and the Exonantial Audio R4 and Nimbus. Maybe thats the difference!
