David - I agree about the tutorial presets or something similar. I actually suggested that about 3-4 times before but nobody said anything about it and Vojtech didn't seem interested, so I dropped it. I thought it was a good idea, but perhaps people just want to figure things out by themselves. Another thing that might be a problem is the lack of global presets. Of course there are MPS presets imported, but I don't think anyone is making global presets and all the focus is on the devices. There are some sound ideas that work as a single sound, but not as devices.

Also, yesterday I made a quick device. What are your thoughts on this as a quick "pluck maker"? Is it easy to understand/use?Is it missing something? I haven't finished adding all the help, but I hope its easy to understand and use.

I wholeheartedly agree with David. I would get a world of enjoyment out of a 'Building Blocks' series of devices, not to mention a series that may get overlooked - based on routing in the matrix itself.

Currently, I'm trying to approach MSF as an IRL modular system, building failed copies of physical modules based on video and text descriptions. I stumble and struggle quite often, but enjoy it anyway!

I keep briefly forgetting that no matter what, it's all up to Vojtech to decide what happens re: ANY of this, as I default back to Just Do It/DIY mode:) But maybe some good examples of other ways to think about Factory Content could be persuasive…
Also, yesterday I made a quick device. What are your thoughts on this as a quick "pluck maker"? Is it easy to understand/use?Is it missing something? I haven't finished adding all the help, but I hope its easy to understand and use.
Like all the devices I've seen of yours, no problem figuring this one out:) Even though I can't recall ever seeing Min and Max controls for cutoff and resonance anywhere else; but that was more intriguing to me than confusing, and the Help text actually helped—tho I did wonder after reading it why the filter envelop had no controls… Still, it was just the sort of only-in-a-Melda device feature I'm always fascinated to see.

It also seems like an excellent choice to be the start of a set of EXAMPLE devices, if eg, another version or several were offered that had distinctively different sets of FX, and maybe one or more that did unique Melda-only things to the existing version with more Gen Grid stuff, like resonators, modal filter or the osc shaper, the Gen Grid FX, etc., etc. (there's SO much there!:)

Actually a few things DID, and still, confuse me a little with your example, though not so much with the device itself, more with the Browser and saving it, etc. First, though, where's the FM in this, since FM Plucker's the Device Name that it loads with?

When I try to get back to this after loading another device, I get another one of yours instead, also called FM Plucker, that has an XY panel; can't recall when I picked that up, but when I try to Export this recent one, I get the tag and details screen from the earlier one. I don't recall having to save pasted devices before… Nice to see that its Presets came along with the code:)

David - I like the idea, but I want approval before I start on anything like that. I don't want to waste time making them and then they aren't included. I think they would work best inside the global presets, but of course still have easy screen controls. There is actually a place in the module where you can explain what each part is doing, so you could guide someone through what each module is for.

The device/preset I attached has the FM title because I just ripped the guts out of my old device and put new stuff in it. Unfortunately if you don't save it as a device it still has the old title though. There is no FM happening and in the final version the title will be changed and it will have its own presets. The browser and saving stuff is all related to that. Maybe I should change "frequency min" to just "frequency". Also the global decay, release controls the filter sweep too. I did it this way just to save space and make things less confusing, although more limited. Perhaps someone will make another device that is similar with more in depth controls. I be sure to mention that the decay, etc are shared between the filter and the volume. Thanks so much for the feedback.

Hmm, yeah; went looking and found what I think you refer to, screen grabs below for both modules and global presets, not noticed these before.

Cool……-ish, since they're still so tiny and hard to read. But they could certainly hold links, I guess, to more flexible images and text creations online; they appear to allow pasting from the system clipboard, are selectable and copyable by anyone…That's certainly interesting:)

And I see that if you add Module notes, these would only be for the specific instance you've included in your preset or device and decided to add them to; very good:) Thanks for pointing these out!

And "ripping the guts out" of one MSF Device to make another is a REALLY good topic for a demo, if you ask me (which you haven't:). Let alone being a good basis for a tutorial series of devices all ripped from the same starting device and starting FX…
