Psuper wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 3:23 amI didn't say it didn't work - I said it doesn't see Reason Rack. Does your chainer see Reason Rack?dlt123 wrote: Wed May 13, 2020 10:34 pmI just bought Chainer and it works perfectly in my DAW, Studio One. I have both Plug & Mix plugins and my third party VST plugins in a chain, and it works great.Psuper wrote: Wed May 13, 2020 8:11 pm Chainer doesn't pickup Reason Rack, added all the necessary directories, doesn't work.
Also for reference, I loaded up 3 synths in Chainer, got artifacts. Same 3 in cubase played at the same time, perfect.
I'm not bothered its only $20, however I'll be sticking to templates and removing Chainer. Mainly, I just want to inform the community my of my 10 minute test result.
I wish I had known about this long ago. Chainer is really a nice plugin. Also, their VIP Bundle sounds really nice. I've listened to several of their plugins, and they sound clean and work as expected. I really like em...
If you keep your eyes on their sales, they usually have great promotions. I just missed their VIP Bundle promotion, which went for $49.99. It ended last April 28th, 2020.
I saw this on their Facebook page... Check their FB page here... or their recently expired promo Here...
These really are nice plugins.
I also mentioned the glaring inherent issues with multiple VSTs running inside chainer verses running native DAW. And a very big problem that is when we're only talking 3 VST patches, I didn't need to test further.
Grains of salt for praise should be taken.
Hey, fellow KVRer, I wasn't attacking or negating your experience, I was just expressing my opinion and experience. I don't own Reason Rack, so I can't speak concerning it working or not...
Chainer may not work for everyone, since computer memory, CPU, OS, disk space, DAW, etcetera can affect any plugin, but for me, I see Chainer a nice addition to my workflow and their VIP plugins seem to be really nice for what they're intended for...
Everyone's mileage may vary and I'm sorry if you thought I was negating your experience... Chainer works for me.
Good luck with your musical pursuits.

There once happened to be a thing called "Native Instruments Kore". NI abandoned it, but it did exactly what you guys are talking about (plus everything Komplete Kontrol does now).WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed May 13, 2020 10:52 pmMain difference I can see is you won't be able to establish an effects chain as IIRC currently Unify only surfaces as a VSTi (instrument) and not effect so you wouldn't be able to pass through the sound from another instrument or audio sample. They are constantly working on Unify though - I know they're wanting to add in things like allowing it to surface as a MIDI effect so maybe audio effect is going to be doable.dzilizzi wrote: Wed May 13, 2020 9:43 pmI don't know how Unify compares to this. That's a showstopper. Bye bye delay sync. I will pass on this ancient abandonware.
But there is clearly a gap in the market for this kind of thing in an affordable package.
Only problem for me is it doesn't support AAX, so won't work in my ProTools. I've also had some crashing with it. I found when I loaded Kontakt first, I would crash in the standalone version. But if I load a midi effect first, Kontakt was fine. But that could be me.![]()
I guess Blue Cat PatchWork is the closest to what Chainer can do, but it's not overly intuitive and I find it a bit glitchy to use, sometimes patches within PatchWork go missing, crashes aren't infrequent so I haven't used it for a long while. Especially now when most DAWs can handle VST3 whereas when I bought PatchWork a few DAWs would only react to VST2.
I've since been looking for a replacement.
I'm switching between DAWs (Ableton, Logic, Reaper) and Win/Mac frequently, so having a way to store my vsti patches in one place would be awesome.

I purchased the Lion - as a owner of all the other stuff from Unfiltered, I’m disappointed, so far. E.g. no anything near SpecOps/Byome effects, or their compressors, delays, gates.
And the core sound is a bit muddy, comparing e.g. to the great Pigments2.

Ya I grabbed it too since I really dig Triad, not the worst purchase but nothing mind blowing either. Regardless, I'll buy pretty much any synth with a significant 'randomize' button if the price is right.Harry_HH wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 10:42 am I purchased the Lion - as a owner of all the other stuff from Unfiltered, I’m disappointed, so far. Any idea if we get separate serial numbers for plugins included in iZotope Music Makers Bundle?
I am interested only in Stutter Edit and Thrash 2, as I already have Iris 2 and don't need to others.

I've been using Patchwork for about a year and I've not had many issues with it (it does crash in OBS from time to time, but a lot of my plugins do including FabFilter). My primary use of Patchwork is to use VIs in Windows without using a DAW for VIs that don't offer standalone versions and it allows me to use effect plugins too with those VIs. I've also used it for chains between DAWs, but not often. Interestingly, you can host Patchwork within Patchwork too if what it offers in a single instance isn't enough.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed May 13, 2020 10:52 pmMain difference I can see is you won't be able to establish an effects chain as IIRC currently Unify only surfaces as a VSTi (instrument) and not effect so you wouldn't be able to pass through the sound from another instrument or audio sample. Since I also own Blue Cat Audio MB-7 Mixer, I tend to use it more often in DAWs as it covers most of my needs (you can have a single band) and if I need more than 4 plugins, I can add Patchwork within MB-7 Mixer (but I don't do it very often).

I actually use Patchwork more for authorizing new plugins than anything else. It is a pain to open up a DAW just to authorize a plugin when I still have the serial number handy.

You definitely will for the non Elements stuff although sometimes they might give a single serial number for the Elements collection rather than four individual ones. More likely get 4 individual ones though.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 3:06 pmAny idea if we get separate serial numbers for plugins included in iZotope Music Makers Bundle?

Thanks for the answer. That's fine for me. Guess I will just grab the bundle and give away others for super cheap. Hope it is doable?agharta wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 4:05 pmYou definitely will for the non Elements stuff although sometimes they might give a single serial number for the Elements collection rather than four individual ones. Glad you guys chimed in. I was considering this because I also just got Triad and love it, and the the very low price for Lion. But I've already got a ton of synths. If this one isn't a knockout, I will pass.Psuper wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 3:02 pmYa I grabbed it too since I really dig Triad, not the worst purchase but nothing mind blowing either. BUT... randomize button... did I mention I love Randomize buttons? With those 2 codes I got the synth for $29 or so, absolutely worth it for many reasons, just not a Serum or anything like that.BERFAB wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 5:27 pmGlad you guys chimed in.
