The other probable candidates could de the Game Boy and the Amiga Paula.
I also mentioned before I am very (I mean VERY) interested in some possible Casio Consonantal Vowel emulations (the Casiotone series). I have a real casiotone from 1993, the MT800 (the onde with the detachable "Mickey mouse ears" speakers) but it has some malfuntiones. I love the raw sound of these things!

The classic yamaha FM synths will be an instant purchase for me. I'd like to see more emulation of classic digital 80/90 synth with the known sonic quality of Ploque products. Maybe also with emulation by their DAC stages in addition. I think it's sometimes a big part of the sound.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the oscillator phase in Chipsynth MD free run, or is it set to re trigger at 0 phase always?

(we have two more FM synths in the future)
Yeah understandable. I don't mean to sound against the new one - I just think it isn't my bag and I look forward to future plugins from you! I think emulating 80/90s synths samplers with your level of accuracy would mean a lot more sales as the demand is higher than this new one your making(from my own perspective and knowing the amount of ppl into those kinds of sounds). I know it's not all about that but it might make sense to do something like that sooner, like a bang on mpc 60/3000 emulation or some ensoniq gear for example.
Just wishful thinking out loud really!

We basically had the initial idea of cramming all classic FM synths in one product called "YM/FM"
but that quickly became a design nightmare and decided to split them up. So I guess yes?
Would buy that in an instant!

Hi, would need a "unrealistic" hack to change this.
Operator free run is not something that can be achieved with our current knowledge of the "budget" line of FM chips like OPN/OPM. The EG and OP are resyched togheter. You can do that on a DX7 though.

On the OPN2 you can technically individually gate each operator (in a 4OP voice), but making a UI for this would have been odd with regards to voice allocation (sorry If I'm too nerdy)

Would be lying if I said that stuff wasn't on our radar.

I guess I can try to achieve this by using the delay in the stack section but I can't seem to find what the value in that parameter stands for, is it milliseconds or samples? and is there any change of getting a parameter with more of a fine tuning because just delaying by one is just too much in some cases.

Another cool thing to have It would be an alternate modulator source in addition to the random poly and mono.

thanks for the responses and I'm loving your products and videos.

Its in 100ths of a second. First time someone said it wasnt granular enough :)

Thanks. Just messing with the Mod matrix yet again so I'll consider it.

Just double checked and you can type precise floating point values directly if you want.
Say 50.134587. The knob itself will still show 50, but the engine will get the requested value .. until you mess with the knob again.

I'm trying to replicate a patch from a Megadrive game (Gauntlet) on chipsynth MD with no success. I want some help, but I don't know if this topic is the right place for this type of question.

Martin Galway wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2020 2:38 pmAs for accuracy - well, believe me I have spent enough time listening to the SID. I can tell you this is the most accurate-sounding SID software synthesiser you will ever hear. I really do not believe anyone else will ever take the time to try to surpass what Mike Clarke has done with InSIDious.
...
When it comes to emulation, InSIDious is the pinnacle of the exercise.

you can always cheat and load the vgm file into chipsynth MD's player. might have to do a bit of tweaking for vibrato or pitch bending, but this'll pretty much give you the patch directly.

Post

I did it. The question is exactly about the vibrato. But I ended up with a satisfying interpretation using pitch bend

Post

The vibrato seems to be very limited. Or I am doing something wrong
