Tadashi, do you have any plans to display numbers (in the status bar or as a popup hint) or even allow to enter numbers? I know I know, sound design by ear, but I'm a numbers guy... Depending on the context, those could be helpful. E.g. Portamento knob could display seconds/ms while turning, others could display -1..1 values or percentages... Envelopes ask for numbers (seconds) as well.
Other ideas:
- Moving modulation circles which show the current state?
- Modulation matrix page?
- Some more LFOs?
- Remove limitation of 1 instance per fx?
Beautiful synth however and congratulations. You opened a can of worms
Bug or my misunderstanding of portamento?
If I play an upper note and it has completely faded out. I.e., then I play the lower note at absolute silence: The synth does still a full glide from the upper to the lower note. I was expecting it to just play the note with no glide.

All synths I know of behave like that. Maybe modulate the portamento time with the envelope?

Yeah no problem to workaround, was just npt aware about that behaviour, thx.Tj Shredder wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2020 4:47 pmAll synths I know of behave like that. Maybe modulate the portamento time with the envelope?

Can you try this build for the preset browser?ENV1 wrote: Sun Jun 14, 2020 5:47 pm Tried the new build and it seems to be working fine.
Re-tested in all the hosts on the list, clicked through some presets, everything seems to be in order now.
(Except selecting presets via the browser does not work.)
At any rate, good job, whatever youve changed seems to have fixed the problem.
Thank you.

Maybe for future update > macro knob renaming.focusrite wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:58 am Can we please have macro renaming? Also there seems to be room for 2 or more banks of macros as there's only 2 rotary controls provided at the moment.
There is no more room for macro knob.
Macro 3 and 4 are macro buttons.

I will check other synthesizers.
I'm not sure what is the correct behavior for this situation.

Tried it and unfortunately no change with regard to the browser.hyakken wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 2:09 pm
Can you try this build for the preset browser?
HY-POLY v1.0.43 VST2/32bit

Tadashi
However, something else has changed. With this latest build, when the synth is instanciated, and a note is played, (init preset), the right channel generates a 29.54dB DC. When i switch to a different preset, 1 of 3 things can happen:
1 - The synth plays normally (extremely rare, maybe 1% of the cases)
2 - The synth plays normally during note-on, but generates a 29.54dB DC on both channels on note-off
3 - The synth generates a 29.54dB DC on both channels immediately (majority of the cases)
Sometimes the overload will reset upon switching to the next preset, but most of the times not.
So whatever youve changed this time didnt work out. Personally, since you cant reproduce the issue, i would just go back to the previous build and not worry about the browser, (unless of course others have the problem too), because direct selection is still possible via rightclicking the preset name and using the dropdown menu.
Thanks for your work, and sorry for the bad news.

I don't know, no expert here. I checked VPS Avenger, it has different modes "Off/Legato/POLY/Poly Legato". Only in the Poly mode it makes a full portamento like Hy-Poly does.
Legato: This makes the sound monophone. When notes overlap (old and new notes)
the sound will glide smoothly to the new note (at the speed set by „time“).
o Poly: The sound will glide this time polyphone. This has the disadvantage that every
note (apart from doubly played notes) glides, for instance in a chord.
o Poly legato: This is a mixture of both modes. A simultaneously pressed chord will not
glide, every additional note played after however will be.
o Split zone: Some modes (poly und poly legato) have the possibility to define a note
from which the portamento is active. All notes below this note will not be glided and
also no effect on higher glided notes. This allows you for for instance to play bass
notes and a lead voice. Only the lead voice glides, the bass doesn’t.

I still need Hy-Dev to have turn off control for LFO section in HyDelay4
