Quick question:
When you buy a 3rd party Kontakt library from the Native Instruments website (e.g. the discounted Spitfire libraries or Slate+Ash), do you get a code/voucher you redeem from the official website or is everything handled from Native Instruments (Access)? How do you go about getting the latest versions of the libraries, all inside Access?

There are two different methods depending on whether the 3rd party has paid NI to license the library to run on Kontakt Player or not (it costs thousands to do it).BeeDog wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 10:20 am Quick question:

With Player licensed libraries you usually use a serial within Native Access and it keeps track of installs and updates.
With non-licensed libraries you do all the downloading from the 3rd party and just load the relevant .nki file from the Kontakt file browser. You need full Kontakt though otherwise it’ll time out after just a few minutes.

The midi stuff only comes with Complete and the upgrade never goes on sale at least that's what they're saying in the thread at VI-Cdzilizzi wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 2:30 amComplete also comes with the Strings of Winter, which has gotten good feedback. The orchestra itself is okay. It is a decent starter library. The engine, however, is amazing. Very fun to play with. Not sure how good the midi out is using Kontakt. I'm not sure it produces a midi, or whether they are phrases. In which case the midi is based on the sheet music.D.Wako wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 7:06 pmI would contact them to make sure this is the case. You can always use midi out in kontakt and record it in your daw. It's slower but you should be able to get the same result. Again. probably best to have someone who owns it to confirm this.rockhopper wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 5:45 pmWhat kept me from even considering either one was the fact that only the Complete has this:D.Wako wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 5:28 pmLooks to me like The Orchestra is the bread and butter part of the complete package. So I'd say yes. But you're probably better wait for someone who actually used these products to confirm that.thenumber23 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 5:16 pm I see a cool sale on Best Service The Orchestra, but I also see there's a The Orchestra Complete version.
Is the non-complete version an excellent product in its own right, or would one want the complete upgrade to feel they have a full package?
The Orchestra Complete also features the new MIDI-Export feature which allows you to drag and drop all five internal sequence tracks directly into your DAW as MIDI files.
So no MIDI Export in The Orchestra, you have to upgrade to Complete. Seems like a feature that shouldn't need an expensive upgrade.
edited: Also, you can always upgrade to the complete bundle later. Look for the upgrade price for comparison...
You can always buy TO, and update when it goes on sale?

I went through the whole process on Guitar Center, they will only "ship" this to residents of:D.Wako wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 11:35 pmI get the same message. These 2 stores often do these US only deal for some reason. I wonder if you could use a proxy server to hide the fact you're outside the US? It's a donwload anyway so you could use a fake address i guess. Just a thought...liquid light wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 10:51 pmHow did you add it to your cart.... it doesn't let me "Add to cart"... sadly it says "This item doesn't currently ship to Canada."...... can't even download it electronically.kurviak wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 10:34 pmJust bought it from guitarcenter and is indeed the full nectar 3 versionGoldieK wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 7:28 pm Musician's Friend and Guitar Center both have the full version of Izotope Nectar 3 for $29. Vegas Pro 14 is the first version where Magix did their first and possibly only major overhaul of Vegas including adding a dark theme to the GUI. They made a couple of minor updates to Sony's version 13 before that.D.Wako wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 11:51 pmI didn't know that. I have v14 version here i got in a humble bundle deal. Hope it's not too old.
Considering that Magix have been charging full upgrade prices for only incremental upgrades since then, you can be sure that Vegas Pro 14 is not that far behind the latest version,
They did add some nice color tools in 17 I think it was, I'll give them that, it's up to version 18 now.

Thanks. I'm used to how it usually works, so I was more interested in the actual behavior of Native Instruments sales. So all of the Kontakt Player-compatible 3rd party deals on the Native Instruments will always be registered directly to Native Access, without having to redeem anything on the official website?WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 10:30 amThere are two different methods depending on whether the 3rd party has paid NI to license the library to run on Kontakt Player or not (it costs thousands to do it).BeeDog wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 10:20 am Quick question:

For example, when Native Instruments offered u-he plugins at a discount on their site, you got activation codes you had to redeem on the official u-he website. But I guess that's unnecessary if Access hosts the Player-compatible libraries?

I wouldn’t like to say they all operate like that, but I can say all the ones I’ve bought have worked that way though some do require a download of the engine and samples themselves from the 3rd party e.g. Orange Tree Samples you download rar archives, unzip them on your PC and then you enter the Native Access code and it’ll ask you to locate the Engine folder plus if the folder structure isn’t in the default location relative to the Engine it’ll also prompt you to locate the samples when you load the instrument in Kontakt.

Incidentally, Guitar Center falsely claims to have currently back-ordered items "In Stock & Ready to Ship" and doesn't indicate otherwise until after you've entered your payment information.
Just as well, because once the manufacturer puts out a new batch I should be able to get an actual bargain at a different seller.

Pressed the 1st link, but I was fast to realize that it was opening the WAVES site, so managed to close the page and stop the process right there.
Then - a bit more wary - went for the 2nd link click, that this time took me to a site called REVERB.com with a video already on and a with a non-cannonical "waves" text written in the background wall. Not a logo on sight neither.
But at 5 seconds or so, the speaker's voice uncovered those futile efforts to hide the awful WUPed horizon behind the free gifts.
Came back to share the funny entertainment story; the lengths they are going these days to hide the everyday more obvious...
