So the upgrade from Z1 to Z3 will be 30 € and the ugrade from Z2 to Z3 will be free?
Upgrade from Zebra 2 to Z3 will be 30. But if you happen to own ZebraHZ (99eu) in addition to Zebra 2, update will be free.

Plugin Alliance did seem to nail it with their "Installation Manager." Incredibly easy to use.Captain wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 7:43 amAhh, yes please! Was just thinking about this yesterday when I updated all my u-he plugins (which is many) on two computers. Not that I have to do it too often, but downloading n+1 installers separately, going through the slightly tedious installation process involving a thousand extra clicks and selections n+1 times (not really u-he’s fault, just the way installers work), then getting rid of the installer files, etc.... When all that could be automatic.Urs wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:15 amIt's climbing up on our ever growing todo list. This probably has been asked before - so apologies for repeating the request: can we have a built-in update function? So at least the convenience of hitting a button "check for updates now", and if any, be pointed to the download link right away?
Say what you want about Plugin Alliance, but I think they are an example of how to do it properly: Open the product manager software, click once and it shows you the products you own, click install, wait for a while, boom, you are done. No unnecessary extra questions asked, no extra files lying around, no extra services running in the background (I think), just update the stuff you own to the latest versions and that’s it. And there are other good examples too like Toontrack etc.
But yeah, I understand it’s a pretty complicated issue. Making something look simple to the user usually takes a lot of complex work.Take your time, but hoping to see something like this one day!
FabFilter's approach of offering a single installer with all products, giving you the ability to custom install only the products you have works alright for a company that makes fewer plugins.

Good day Urs,
im just curious, how far Zebra 3 is in the development as of this moment ?
What can we expect? what about CPU usage, will it be friendly as Z2?
Will it have same crisp sound as Hive ?

I wouldn't expect the same CPU usage as Z2.

I don't either, tho Hive 2 is quite friendly for CPU and sounds really good. In fact zebra 2 with xmf filters seems to have even higher cpu cost then Hive 2

Yeah don't expect Hive CPU usage either. Z3 is gonna be the new flagship.

I wouldn't bet on that either, because Hive is a product born out of research purpose for Zebra 3EvilDragon wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 9:27 am Yeah don't expect Hive CPU usage either. Z3 is gonna be the new flagship.

Huh? It's dreadful - doesn't tell you if what you have actually needs updating or not.billcarroll wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 3:19 pmPlugin Alliance did seem to nail it with their "Installation Manager." It's becoming a focus point. While we had a few painful departures from our dev team (delaying Uhbik 2.0 etc.), we're currently bringing two new and very motivated guys up to speed.the.new.me wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 7:37 am Good day Urs,

I still have to find my own 6 consecutive months without distraction, but there's a good chance that these will start this year (after the ARM/Big Sur update).
Yes and no. It will certainly be as crispy as it gets, by default even, but it'll also smooth if you want it to. It will also most certainly be as CPU friendly as it gets with the right choice of synthesis. However, there will be options that consume a lot of CPU because we're adding a few novel extensions that simply wouldn't run on a CPU from 2005.What can we expect? what about CPU usage, will it be friendly as Z2?Will it have same crisp sound as Hive ?

Yes, Hive has a lot of Zebra 3 DNA, particularly the oscillators. But then Hive's Oscillators don't have OscFX and Zebra's will have more detailed control over unison and stuff. Not sure if that'll grind the CPU down much, but as I said, there are some pretty crazy ideas...the.new.me wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 9:30 amI wouldn't bet on that either, because Hive is a product born out of research purpose for Zebra 3EvilDragon wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 9:27 am Yeah don't expect Hive CPU usage either. I hope it is that Tas guy, never liked him. ( I kid I kid.. Tas is probably the u-he-ite I interact with the most and it is always a very pleasant experience, plus he is in support more than development afaik).
