This! I reported this behavior to Bitwig and Sonic Academy a couple of months ago. Still waiting for a fix...
The only workaround is to sample the kicks from Kick 2 for consistent, on time hits.
I'm glad I still have Kick 1 but was looking to upgrade soon. I may just wait til they figure that out.

Sorry for the necro, but are the GUI issues in Bitwig still present?

I just saw this video where it seems to be actually a lot more efficient than Live 10:

Yes, it is more efficient, also vs. 11 beta that I tested today.
There were some issues on macOS, but I'm hearing they've been largely straightened out by now.
It's smooth sailing :)

Thanks antic!

I will probably get Bitwig on their next sale.

I'm done with Ableton. I paid $300 less than a year ago to upgrade to Live 10 and now they are asking for another $200 to upgrade to Live 11 for features Bitwig already has.

Well, I'm not sure what is it that Live 11 adds that "Bitwig already has", but regardless it's a good decision. But make sure you're not making in impulsively. Take the 30 day demo, see if the workflow works for you and so on. It's not for everybody :)

I guess for me the main feature of Live 11 is MPE, which Bitwig has had for ages.

Thanks for the tips!

Didnt know the video, but´s very interesting. Even when you notice he is using a i9 9900K.

For anyone considering switch..

You get
- Better overall performance
- Solid stability
- Easier modulation
- Customizable shortcuts
- Slightly better piano roll
- The grid
- More active updates

You'll probabily miss
- M4L
- Native effects like Multiband Dynamics
- Hardware/Controller support
- Neatly designed UX
- Capture
- And now comping
- Better plugin compatability

Feature-wise both DAW are almost on the same level but I switched because of the stability and updates. Development pace seem to be quite promising. They try to listen a lot too.

You can also wait 2 years with buying 11 like you did with buying 10. Or skip 11 and buy 12 in 4 years or so.
You also don't have to upgrade, like you don't have to with Bitwig.
But if you always want to have the latest version of a DAW, then Bitwig is more expensive than Live.
for features Bitwig already has.
Partially true. Live 11 and even 10 also offers features Bitwig doesn't have.

You can buy mine. viewtopic.php?f=43&t=531689&p=7518985#p7518985
