To the people advocating for Bitwig and Live I dislike the way both UIs don’t trust people to move the component windows round to match the way they’d prefer to work. Set sizes for certain panels are frustrating and I really hate constantly having to choose between access to midi item content and the active plugin window. The teeny squished mixer is horrible too. This rigidity benefits just two sets of people IMO - people doing video tutorials and lazy documentation providers.

I'm on the Beta now and can confirm that Scene Follow Actions are "Heaven" :)

You can now lay out an entire Track in the Sessions View and have some random elements in the individual Track Parts through Clip Follow Actions.

Trick: if you want to have an element only play in the last Bar of a 16 Bar Block, just set the Midi Clip or Sample Start Time to -15 Bars and voila :)

This makes Ableton so much better, it's almost like a Tracker now. I don't get why they don't advertise this feature.

Seems great, might finally use the session view :)

People just have different look and feel preferences. To me Bitwig looks and feels like an early 2000s Flash game. I can’t really explain very well, but I definitely prefer one over the other.
Signatures are so early 2000s.

I see Cubase 11 just launched as well (a promo at least) what a week! Bitwig 4 next please...

I also prefer Ableton look and feel over Bitwig. And as some said they wanted at pop up browser in Live, i don't like this. To each his own i guess.

That. I always close the browser and let it 'pop up' with <Ctrl>-<Alt>-<b>.

Yes, different styles of working, I have my midi keyboard in front of me with a mouse on top- QWERTY keyboard out of the way most of the time.

Looking for some advice.

I am still on Live 9 suite, and will definitely make the update to Live 11. But first, I'm going to install Live 10 suite, as it gives me Live 11 free when it's out. How would/did you proceed to update it? I mean, should I install Live 10 in place of Live 9 or have both installed in case something goes wrong? Also, if I have 9 and 10 installed at the same time, what about Suite Library? Will they both refer to the same library (except for any new packs from 10 suite) or will I have duplicate libraries, one for each version?

Thanks by advance for your help.

EDIT: Windows 10 here

I am still on Live 9 ...

Thanks by advance for your help.
I believe it will be a separate installation. Pretty sure that's what happened when I installed 10 as I had to manually uninstall Ableton 9. That's on Mac OSX

And what about the Frost theme? Is it back???? :D :hihi:

Has anyone tried the beta out on Win 8 yet? Thanks.
I tried the beta in Windows7 and authorisation did not work. So can't use it. It would be real nice if Windows7 and 8 were also supported, like in Live10.
Thanks. If that's also the case with 8.1 then I won't be upgrading for a while :(
Actually I re-tried today and now authorisation worked! So I was able to start Ableton11 in Windows7 even though it's not officially supported. I hope things will work as well as they do in Live10.

Thanks for your answer. :tu:

This means I might not even have the choice (which makes my life easier after all). Might be worth mentioning I'm on Windows 10 though, don't know if it changes anything.

I have 10 Live Suite and use it and other DAWs, it’s not perfect and neither are they.
