It is why ableton is popular software among social media celebrities. It is effective gadget to gain views.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 9:33 am To the people advocating for Bitwig and Live I dislike the way both UIs don’t trust people to move the component windows round to match the way they’d prefer to work. Set sizes for certain panels are frustrating and I really hate constantly having to choose between access to midi item content and the active plugin window. The teeny squished mixer is horrible too. This rigidity benefits just two sets of people IMO - people doing video tutorials and lazy documentation providers.

I don't miss it in S1 or Reason. I think Cubase will be fine without one

I'm running the beta in windows 8.1thecontrolcentre wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 1:03 amThanks. It would be real nice if Windows7 and 8 were also supported, like in Live10.thecontrolcentre wrote: Tue Nov 10, 2020 10:35 pm I'm concerned that they're reccomending Win 10 as a minimum requirement for Live 11 as I'm still on win 8.1 ... I upgraded to a 64 bit system when they dropped 32 bit support, and don't really want to be forced to upgrade again.
Has anyone tried the beta out on Win 8 yet? Thanks.![]()

Earnest question, especially for anyone with access to the beta...what would the advantage be of using the probability additions to the piano roll over using the Random and Velocity MIDI effects, particularly on a drum rack? At the moment i run those two and a M4L humanizer to create variations in drum patterns (in addition to drawing in velocity variations by hand).

The only issue that I know of with regards to the earlier versions of OS (both Mac and Win) is that they are officially not supported. So if you do run into an issue, don't expect a bug fix to be released that would remedy it. With this in mind... approach new releases with some caution.thecontrolcentre wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 1:28 amCool. Thanks for that SharksFin. Made my dayI'm running the beta in windows 8.1![]()

The random devices affect all notes equally. The probability affects one midi note at a time. So you could have a set amount of notes always hit and a few that are optional.voidhead23 wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 5:06 am Earnest question, especially for anyone with access to the beta...what would the advantage be of using the probability additions to the piano roll over using the Random and Velocity MIDI effects, particularly on a drum rack? All the bigger additions aside, I'm just in love with the new Hybrid Reverb. It just simplifies so much for me. I really wanted Ableton to upgrade their reverb, and boy did they ever. The hybrid convolution + algorithmic is so nice, and the added vintage settings are an icing on the cake.

I've started to become interested in that. Quality-wise what would you say it was equivalent to? And good as a static verb or more sound design?dangayle wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 6:33 am All the bigger additions aside, I'm just in love with the new Hybrid Reverb. It just simplifies so much for me. Are the Vector(...), Tree Tone, Emit & Bouncy Notes devices in yet? Are they hidden in some pack that needs to be downloaded?
I couldn't find them

I'm not really that great at determining those things. I just know that it sounds great to me and is going to displace Valhalla VintageVerb on my default template.leeleema wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 6:51 amI've started to become interested in that. I don't think they are available yet, they may not be available until the final release with all the Spitfire stuff and new soundpacks- who knows!antic604 wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 7:48 am Are the Vector(...), Tree Tone, Emit & Bouncy Notes devices in yet? The new reverb doesn't seem to have any extraordinary features, but does have all the nice things a common reverb should. Just watched the video, there'e even tempo-sync and feedback here.
The only thing missing is the built-in duck, or sidechain.
But, most importantly, it allows to combine convolution-based early reflections and algorithmic lush tail - that's the technique many pros use for extremely large sound, and so far I couldn't do that easily in a single device.

The really cool thing about this is that now equipment manufacturers can finally start making MPE controllers.

Yep. With Live 11 MPE is finally going mainstream and is no longer a novelty limited to underground circle of avant-garde geeks..jon wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 8:46 am The really cool thing about this is that now equipment manufacturers can finally start making MPE controllers.
