Not a huge upgrade for me, nice features added but many basic requests and frustrations some of us have, haven't been addressed.

Like
- a better browser that at least can list results included in all folders of a location, better tagging, plug-in browsing, VST sandboxing, arranger view improvements (hide tracks, bounce in place, regions, better markers).

- Wet/Mix on racks, maybe a multiband and other routing racks for quicker workflow.

- Routing in general, plug-in compensation and latency issues fixed.

- Better mixer, metering, GUI maybe, plug-in rack view.

- Assignable keyboard shortcuts for all actions.

and many more i'm forgetting right now.

A feature that adds Darude - "Sandstorm" presets and/or samples to any VST, obviously :dog:

I couldn't find them
I don't think they are available yet, they may not be available until the final release with all the Spitfire stuff and new soundpacks- who knows!
Inspired by nature devices will be released soon.

Oh cool, if that's been added and works well then that could help sort out some of the stability issues I've had with Live over the last few months. Guess I'll stick my name down for the Beta.

To be fair, it's difficult to find stuff to add to Cubase that it doesn't have yet :)
Actually it's easy: clip launcher.
Gosh, I hope that Steinberg dev's will never waste time on this. They have more important things to do: better stability, unified GUI, improved workflow, sandbox for plugins, etc.
Cubase is not a live performer DAW. It doesn't even have gapless playback.
I know that Steinberg is trying to sell Cubase as a DAW for EDM but it's not. Live and Bitwig are much better for this. Cubase is great for multimedia audio, post-production, audio for games, multitrack recordings and I hope they will continue to upgrading features related to that than trying to be another Ableton Live.

They certainly will. Logic and DP(!) already got one. S1 has Show Page.

arranger events already can be triggered with MIDI notes and that would be enough in Cubase I would say

(or https://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=93324 )

ps. btw it can be used for EDM, nicely if you don't need extreme modulation and the new hybrid score editor view is pretty cool

from 1:50 can't imagine that BWS/Live etc. will ever have these kinds of features

We're talking about features to add to Cubase to sell the next big upgrade, not actually solutions for doing stuff.

that is what I'm saying no needs any clips in Cubase, I would vote to adding automation to
Track Versions instead if something, but it's AL topic anyway :D

So, expect it half-baked for a few Cubase versions or even unusable because lack of gapless playback and other performance quirks that Cubase can't get rid of for years ;)
For me they have more important features to add/fix than pretending to be another Live.
Btw. I can imagine that Clip Launcher is the most used feature in DP now ;)

You already bought Cubase, it's not about you or me ;)

It actually _is_ a great addition, although DP already had a good looper (Polar) and arrangement features (with chunks, which are _way_ ahead anything Cubase has AFAIK). A clip launcher (with minimal feature set) is a great looper and rough arrangement helper.
xbitz wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 12:06 pm that is what I'm saying no needs any clips in Cubase
Selling products isn't about what you need, but what you want. And if all other shiny DAWs have a clip launcher/some sort of live performance thing you need one in your feature list too.

xbitz wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:58 am ps. btw it can be used for EDM, nicely if you don't need extreme modulation
Extreme? Cubase doesn't even have basic modulators :P
I don't count ancient midi LFO etc. because these are taking forever to assign to 3rd party plugins. Cubase is archaic in that matter, everything is based on CC so you need to know all CC's in the plugin, if it's even mentioned in the Manual, otherwise good luck.
Live or Bitwig eats Cubase for dinner in matter of this and workflow for anything EDM related.

Funny thing that they asked about this stuff in the survey. Apparently not many people voted for it because they completely ignored this topic in C11. Maybe 11.5...

I'm not saying that Cubase can't be used for EDM. There are simply better DAWs for it. I'm using both Cubase and Live for EDM genres and I can clearly see that Live is much more efficient for this kind of music.

Neither new customers. I'm on groups for EDM etc. Nobody's talking about Cubase. It's only FL and Ableton, eventually Bitwig or Logic.
For newcomers Cubase looks like a way too big, way too complicated monster that is not made for "making beats". Kinda similar to PT, for youngsters' PT feels like a DAW for boomers and grandparents :D
imo Cubase will never get rid of this opinion, it's already too late except if they would make another 'New Cubase' (maybe different name) with completely new marketing to cut off from the opinion they already have. Cut down version without VR and tons of options useful for people doing other audio stuff. They could make it from Elements for example.
