I guess this means it won't be long until V8 comes out?

It means you can get a killer deal as a first time buyer of v7. Well worth it at this price or more, even if you only use some of it.
v8 soon? Who knows until its here ...

I suppose Pigments brief foray into full price wasn't doing much for them.

Pigments is $50 as a crossgrade, it's not a synth that particularly excited me, but I hear it's good, so I'll pick it up at that price.

As an user of VC6 the cross grade price is no brainer. But VC7 is now $99, decision to pick either one or WHY NOT BOTH >an-electric-heart wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:37 pm Pigments is $50 as a crossgrade, it's not a synth that particularly excited me, but I hear it's good, so I'll pick it up at that price.
Note: IT's just the beginning of the BF sales in the software world. arrrrrr

Pigments is imo Arturia's best work in synthesis, and the quality of sound is quite refreshing in terms of Vsts.

it adds up to around $6 a plugin. (Actually the Plate was a freebie last year so its really 14 / $100. )Spring Goose wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 12:12 amThanks pal. What I want to know from people out here who have been around longer and are more experienced than me is, how do these compare to IKM's stuff in Tracks? I recognize some of them. I also think Black Rooster did emulations of some of these as well. Are they all pretty much more or less the same thing or is there that much of a difference?

Arturia is exceptional at "going really low price-wise" at times - in the case of their FX collection, even if you only use a few of their EFX once in a while: it's a steal.Spring Goose wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:44 pm OK tell me about FX collection (please). My crossgrade offer is 99euro.
15 emu's for 99 euro. But there's a slight caveat (this is a little confusing):
They now separately offer (3) more what they call "modulation FX" emu's: Phasor BI-TRON; Chorus DIMENSION-D; and: Flanger BL-20 - if history is an accurate indicator, I would expect at some future date (maybe sooner then later) that they'll sell the three as a bundle (as they did at product intro w/a healthy savings) w/a crossgrade deal that depends on what you have in your account OR as the FX collection version "upgrade" that includes all 18 EFX's
Edit: Here's the EXPIRED deal that they ran for the (3) additional a couple of months ago:
"Until September 13, 2020, the 3 Modulations bundle with all three effects is available for an introductory price of USD 149. The individual price for each plug-in is USD 99, which means that you can save 50% if you buy all three of them now."
Source: https://www.gearnews.com/manufacturer/arturia/
That comes out to $49.67/each at launch - expect a lower price for the 3 in bundle form if you already have the first 15 emu's. But when is anybody's guess - it could be a while.

I am very tempted to grab Pigments 2, though I really don't need it for any purpose. It's just pretty and sounds cool

If a company has periodic and predictable 50% off sales, that becomes the "real" price, except for the very few who are not aware of their sales, or the few who absolutely can't wait.biscuitdough wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:33 pm I suppose Pigments brief foray into full price wasn't doing much for them.
But the synth itself is great

I have more than 30 synths. Pigments is the most powerful, intuitive and versatile for me. If you don't own it it's a great opportunity. I also have V Collection 7 and I love it, but if I had V6 I would wait to V8 instead of updating now.
