so more Dunkirk style stuffHoward wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2020 8:59 pmFor more comby, resonatory and MSEGy stuff of course!BSB wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 4:35 pmHoward, what are you and HZ using the extra combs, resonators, and MSEGS for?New presets? I'm afraid there can be no additional presets in The Dark Zebra, but the custom XY assignments do turn each preset into a "playground". Have fun!

I am really happy with Zebra2 and the update.
However Zebralette! Wow, did you really score with this update! Great job guys.
I like the extra controls and the layout, but the best thing is that I can read all of the labels and find things now! It used to strain my eyes trying to use it, so I always used Z2 instead.
It really feels like Zebra2s' little brother now. B)
I almost consider Zebralette a separate synth, as the GUI isn't as crowded one osc in Z2.
Really nice.

Is Zebra2 now MPE compatible like Hive2?
Couldn't find any info and since Hive2 isn't really advertised as MPE compatible either. I want to purchase Zebra2 and I'm hoping it will support polyphonic pitch automations with the new Live11.

No.

Zebra 2 won't have MPE implemented due to how the voice handling in it is simply too complicated and incompatible with the MPE way of things. Zebra 3, on the other hand, is supposedly gonna support MPE IIRC.

Thanks for the precious info EvilDragon!
That must have been discussed many times but is there an approx release date for Zebra3 already? I remember reading about it in 2016 or 2017.
And any idea if the patches we create with Zebra2 would be compatible with 3?

No approx release date. Zebra 3 won't be compatible with Zebra 2 patches (Zebra 2 will still be an active and maintained product after Z3 is released).

Thanks! I'm re-reading the 2016 "Zebra 3 speculation thread" now. Well looking forward to it, will be a nice surprise when it comes out, I hope it'll be super easy on CPU too, smth Zebra2 is very good at.

I wouldn't count on it being super low on CPU, there are some DSP boundaries to be pushed with Z3...

I just read on our Slack that Linux versions are pretty close.
But I'm not much involved with this, and I guess Alex mostly checks our Linux sub forum.
