Unfortunately I include blatant fun and enjoyment in my puchase decisions. This opens the door wider to spending. There are some really amazing audio tools out there! But, yes, one ultimately doesn't need much to make cool music.sleepcircle wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 2:07 amcodec_spurt wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 10:51 pm I may consider downloading some of the stuff I bought last year in BF sales. I may even consider installing some of it. I doubt I'll probably end up using any of it. If I'm going to really knock myself out, I'll try to remember what I bought in the BF deals the year before that!
that is exactly why i don't plan on buying anything, haha. honestly, if i can't make all the music i want with what i currently have, then buying one more thing won't suddenly make me into a musician.

Grabbed XLN Audio RC-20 for 50% off - such a fun plugin!
If soothe 2 goes on sale, I may pick that up if its worth it
I will also upgrade to Fabfilter Saturn 2 at some point.

I hadn't noticed that one before. Adding to my "maybe" list.
"includes Shadow Corrosion, Dimension Art, Vivid Sequences and Textured Waves Cypher2 Expanders."
Does not include Cinematic Impact or Elemental EDM.
I already have Vivid Sequences (first expansion they released). Dimension Art comes with Lumi Keys Studio preorder, but I'm pretty sure I won't preorder that. I think their past sales on Cypher2 Expanders have been 30% off. $70*.7 = 49 > 44 so it still seems like a good deal for me.
If I buy Equator2 at Plugin Boutique first that will shave off another $5.

I even bought one again which I forgot I already have...Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 10:23 pm I really have too many plugins and probably won't be jumping on any Black Friday deals. I seriously contemplated buying the Fuse Audio 515 until I realized I already own it. True story.

Been contemplating several things (Echo Cat, SmartComp, Mu...) but I feel that for most of them I have viable alternatives. My demos for SmartComp and Mu are long expired, too, so I cannot give them another spin. That helps...
I bought TEOTE two weeks ago, so that doesn’t count as a BF purchase
What I’m definitely going to buy is Exponential/Izotope R4. It’s like 25€ at plugin boutique and the Exponential reverbs are insanely good, as I’ve only recently discovered.

Well, you could get Modnetic (Roland Space Echo emulation) for 15 bucks or Sketch Cassette II for 20. Not too bad and your kids will certainly like it.

Is it really? It sounds nothing like Audiothing Outer Space which is a Space Echo emulation.

Yep, it very apparently is. It has all the Space Echo controls and features + additional stuff. Outer Space might be visually closer to the original layout, but that has nothing to do with the sonic characteristics (not saying Outer Space is or isn't authentic).Spring Goose wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:51 amIs it really? Modnetic "sounds nothing like Outer Space" - aside from the subjectivity of that statement, it's not supposed to sound like Outer Space, but it's supposed to sound similar to a Roland Space Echo (Modnetic to me seems more like a modernized Space Echo on steroids, rather than a boring emulation of 50 years old obsolete analog technology).
