Yeah, could get a second hand one for that money. I wished I had bought the Korg collections from M1Le last year for $99 because I have no interest in paying another $99 for TritonaMUSEd wrote: Tue Dec 01, 2020 4:57 pmYes - and it's petty that they didn't discount it in the saleWatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Dec 01, 2020 4:55 pm Just seen an email from Korg extending their sale for another month. I don't think they've worked out yet that Triton is stupidly overpriced and the upgrade price for people with the rest of the collection pretty unappealing.

Totally. In fact for $199 I may even just saved for a couple more months and buy an actual Triton.dream22 wrote: Tue Dec 01, 2020 7:39 pm Agree about the Korg pricing on Triton VST. It's great that a new user can get the whole collection for $199 but a little more recognition for those of us who've been on board since the original "legacy collection" would go a long way. I'm certainly never going to pay $149 for it. $49 and I might do it - if only to complete the collection.

The $199 for Triton is labelled a 'special price' with the RRP as $249. I know there's an argument to be made that it comes with 'all the ROMS', but so does the M1 Wavestation and that's not crazy money.escalona wrote: Tue Dec 01, 2020 9:27 pmTotally. Didn’t know that unfortunately (the reverb and standard clip package was one of my BF purchases)e@rs wrote: Tue Dec 01, 2020 10:05 am
You probably know this already, but for this BF they have the 50% off (I don't remember such a deep discount before) on SIR3 and bundles containing it, and for the first time it can be combined with the extra 25% off from the newsletter subscription.

There’s some of that, but also as they aren’t doing vouchers this month, most of these deals won’t be as good as habitual PA customers would otherwise get.Vortifex wrote: Tue Dec 01, 2020 6:01 pm

Do you feel like they complement each-other, or could you get by with just DCO-106?Insanelysane wrote: Wed Oct 21, 2020 5:38 amTotally worth the price. Quick, great sounding synth with some soul! For sure you can get by with just the DCO-106. But I did a comparison, and I feel that TAL-U-no-lx is overall better in terms of sound and also efficiency and presets. Also I think that TAL nailed the chorus, which to some people is a huge part of it (though their chorus plugin in free so...moot point?).jscheel wrote: Wed Dec 02, 2020 3:13 amDo you feel like they complement each-other, or could you get by with just DCO-106?Insanelysane wrote: Wed Oct 21, 2020 5:38 amTotally worth the price. If I could only use DCO-106 I wouldn't cry or anything, it's a fine synth. I do feel that TAL-U-no_lx has the edge though. In a final mix, though, no one can tell what you're using, and even fewer people will care.

I believe it's a form of 'dirty protest' after the 3 polls and 4 discussion threads didn't result in yet more rules being applied to the Bargains thread. Salty tears.
On-topic: Yes, Korg's repeated emails offering me not much are getting a bit old. Will unsub.

If you can live with the feeling of not 'owning' the TAL one, yes there's not great variance. The DCO is so nice and easy, you wont be disappointed in comparison to TAL one, though you should def make sure you're not going to be nitpicking the differences like worrying if the chorus emulation is exacting or not. The DCO just sounds great without needing to worry about what it is supposed to be or not. Its now a go to for quick load quick preset tweaking and I have plenty of stiff competition synths in my vst folder but I def like the sound and vibe.

How's the GUI of PPG WAVE 3.V by Waldorf? Looks to me it is small and not scalable. Have a 2K display here.

I don't know yet. Have to demo it. But ... didn't I read a rumour Waldorf is about to modernize their GUIs or at least make it scalable? I think I read it around the time when Largo was on a similar deal.
Re.: Displays. I have a new 4k display and all of a sudden a bag full of problems, I never knew existed.

It's not scalable and I have my PC attached to both 2k and 4k screens.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Dec 02, 2020 10:29 am How's the GUI of PPG WAVE 3.V by Waldorf? Looks to me it is small and not scalable. Have a 2K display here.
The 4k screen is a no go, but it's just about usable on my 1440p screen (see attached to see how you feel - I took a screenshot with Reaper maximised).

Thanks for the screenshot. Not too bad for a 2K display indeed.
