Yep, certainly coming with the redesign. Whenever time permits (not mine, but that of Basti-he-who-designs-that-stuff)spunkmuffin wrote:Can I request undo/redo buttons? And a more spacious browser window? When you get around to it, no rush.
MFM2 status?

I just want a taste! Please, you're killing me!Urs wrote:Our internal builds have a granular pitch shifter in the FeedbackFX section (the one below the feedback matrix). It's the same algorithm which is at the heart of Uhbik-G, with just grain size and pitch multiplier controls. Does the reverse audio trick of course.

Man, it's to some degree also your fault that I'm a modular nut now. So I did get Clouds once it became discontinued. So I need to spend some time with it and maybe rethink my stance on granularjustin3am wrote:I just want a taste! Clouds' granular mode is quite a thing. The hardware is also a great test-bed for trying out new ideas. I don't think I'll be cranking out plug-ins any time soon but I've certainly learned a lot just by moving parameters around and changing the ranges and simple things like that. It's incredible that Olivier has made all of his work open source. Such an incredible learning resource. I've now built a couple Mutable Instruments modules from the resources on his github (getting PCBs made and sourcing all the tiny SMT parts). It's difficult but it's very rewarding once a module I've built is working. SDIY is a whole 'nother rabbit hole to fall down.Urs wrote:So I did get Clouds once it became discontinued. I remember discussing granular ideas with you years ago and you saying "that sounds like MFM3." Ha! That must have been like 2007/08. Anyway, you know me, I'll always find a way to get the sounds I want with the tools I have but I'd still love to see your take on a granular delay and/or granular sample player... with lots of overlapping grains and flexible windowing options. Just keep doing your thing!

Will the re-design be a new version like mfm3 and if so, will it be backwards compatible ?Urs wrote:Yep, certainly coming with the redesign. Or will it be "just" an update for mfm2 ?

Just an update. There's an idea to also update the engine with newer delay and filter models but that might be a blow to compatibility. So new UI and a few extra features first, then maybe a larger update at some later date.Dip200 wrote:Will the re-design be a new version like mfm3 and if so, will it be backwards compatible ?Urs wrote:Yep, certainly coming with the redesign. Still too busy with other stuff to say when exactly this is going to happen.

Don't fret about compatability, how many people here
only use one delay plugin? Maybe a question for the next poll?
Cheers

Hey, thanks for this (both of you responsible for it), it makes MFM much nicer to use, and I had missed this skin originally.EvilDragon wrote:My tweak of that skin actually implements the keyboard, which the original Spaced Out skin misses.

Note - I had to made a mod, as the "D" in "KEYBOARD" panel label was not rendered on my display, I extended the width of the mask a little so the D would show up.
Anyway - just wanted to add my thanks, nice work!

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Pretty sure he specifically told 'you' not to ask... but he didn't specifically tell anyone-else who feels compelled to ask, not to ask. Far-be-it from me to suggest someone-else asks, on your behalf.killmaster wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 4:19 pmI won't ask but last 3 words make me want toUrs wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:20 pm Still in the pipeline. I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I can't find the posts, but something about losing two developers to other companies this year, and one of the developers was involved with updating filters in our older plug-ins to a more modern version. This was done for Uhbik, but it has not yet been done for MFM2 and Filterscape. So now again, this is another field where I have to train and assign new employees before we can continue with our larger schedule.
