Now is a good time to report it. A fix could make it into 3.3.1 beta 2
Should Bitwig take Ableton 11 as an example?

Extremely correct.Vladislav_Gronk wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 5:46 pm Yes, they should focus more on production related stuff instead of adding even more sound design bloat. There's a reason 97% of Bitwig's users never release anything substantial and only tinker around making obscure sounds.
I would like to see somewhere some good stuff produced in BWS.
I found myself getting really lost but engaged in experimental behavior using BW.
It has all the required tools for producing but it’s a rabbit hole of distraction and indulgence in a never ending modulation madness overtaking a production mind trying to focus with the task at hand.
That’s my experience and my problem and I should not blame the tool but I see this reflected in so many videos going for hours in endless sound canvases stretching to the limit of absorption.

The only 'bug' that I continually deal with in Bitwig is that when I'm recording a Clip Launcher clip, 99% of the time when I hit stop, the clip will be 1 bar longer than I want it to be. E.g. I play an 8 bar section, and the clip winds up at 9 bars, and I have to manually change it to 8.
I understand that the program is *technically* doing the right thing: I probably hit stop just slightly after the end of the 8 bars, so it rounds up to 9.
But Live is smarter than this; Live always seems to know what length you probably wanted, and round down or up in the correct direction. Usually this means simply rounding down, so it's 8 bars not 9, or 4 not 5, etc. Bitwig hasn't gotten this right since day one, and if I had a dollar for every time I've re-sized my freshly recorded clip-launcher clip.....etc etc.

Then don't... it is your inability to be focused and not the tool. End of story.liquidsound wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 7:10 pmThat’s my experience and my problem and I should not blame the tool but
Two things...
1 - Plenty of people complete stuff in Bitwig.
2 - Completing stuff is no better than simply playing around with it having fun. Someone who 'completes' stuff is no better than someone who makes long videos of fun generative stuff or gets together with some friends to play music with no purpose other than enjoyment.
That stuff is just social conditioning making people feel guilty for not being commercially productive.
And of course the great majority of people using Ableton Live or whatever DAW are not completing stuff either. That is just how it is regardless of software and that is totally fine.

You said yourself that you shouldn't blame the tool, then you blamed the tool... so you already know what you said is crap. But now your ego is in it and you will defend it to the death even though you know its crap by your own words.liquidsound wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 8:51 pmYou don’t agree with my post.pdxindy wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 8:23 pmThen don't... it is your inability to be focused and not the tool. And making declarations about 97% of Bitwig users based on no data is not true. It is nothing but made up BS. There is no need to make room for that. If you want to say that Bitwig doesn't work for you, fine, but that isn't what you did.

Not at all end of story. Part of the reason you get flack is because you constantly post your problems with Bitwig as if they're true for everyone, like in the above quote, it's true for you, in your experience, not "true" in general.liquidsound wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 8:51 pm You don’t agree with my post.

No single DAW could ever prevent me from writing, that's where you really lose me. You're more comfortable in Live, we get it. In no way is your experience of writers block in Live universal, yet you post like it is.

Personally, I also agree that workflow and production related improvements, for e.g. mixing and arrangement would be a very good thing.Vladislav_Gronk wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 5:46 pm Yes, they should focus more on production related stuff instead of adding even more sound design bloat. However, when you follow that by some bs about '97% of bitwig users', you just sound like a tit.
Either you think are in the 3% and superior belittling everyone else you don't even know, or in the 97% and making excuses for not getting things done. Either way with no facts to back up your bs. Weird!

Hah! What a ridiculous thing to blame Bitwig for, that they provide too many tools!liquidsound wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 7:10 pmExtremely correct.Vladislav_Gronk wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 5:46 pm Yes, they should focus more on production related stuff instead of adding even more sound design bloat. Make sure you never buy Native Instruments Komplete... you'll never leave the house and will blame NI when you get to 200Kg!
If you want to see some good stuff produced in Bitwig, then pull your finger out and start making some! I've done a collaborative project in Bitwig this year, and it's been fantastic. Certainly Bitwig has helped, not hindered, so it ain't the DAW mate.

No one has data. It’s a personal opinion and I don’t care if you agree and you don’t care if I disagree.pdxindy wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 9:06 pmYou said yourself that you shouldn't blame the tool, then you blamed the tool... so you already know what you said is crap. Keep it that way.
Read my post. It may not be the tool but each DAW has a workflow that facilitate certain outcomes.
That’s what I find to be with BW.
Not for you but for me and perhaps several others.
You seems not to like any criticism of BW from users. I do have issues with BW and I paid for it as you did.
I didn’t refer to your post so you are getting personal.
I have the same right of saying as you do.
Eventually BW will progress enough for me to be able to use it more but until then I will voice my opinions.
I’ll be keeping my paid upgrade until the next version hoping things gets better for my use.
I mean.... look at the title of the post... and I gave it an answer not of you like.

The majority of critical comments I never say anything in reply nor do I care about them or mind them. I also make critical comments too. It is when people make sweeping declarations about others (such as 97% of Bitwig users cannot complete something) and not just speak for themselves that I usually say something.
Fairly regularly I reply to your comments cause you have a hard time just speaking for yourself.
And of course, you can express your opinions... just like I can reply to them.

If you can’t understand my post it’s fine with me too.
You are not require to do so.
You seems not to understand that each of us has specific issues with each tool we use and if I want to point out something I can simply and rightly do it.
You don’t agree and you telling me End of Story as to shut up?
BW it’s probably your favorite DAW obviously but don’t try to police other: stop using it, end of story.
Wow!

KVR is a toxic waste dump of moaning, but worse still a time drain when even just reading posts and not replying..
pdxindy - what is the point answering complete numpties on a forum? We should all meditate and then with an open heart make music if music is our creative calling.. we all know deep down that forums are a waste of time, so lets read Michael Singer and Eckhart Tolle and get on with it..
The quality of music produced is not Bitwigs fault as most music made in Ableton or any DAW is utter crap too.. the tools we already have now are incredible..
Nobody post in here again and lets make some f**king interesting sounds.. RIP Bitwig KVR.. the last ever post.. 2021 - the year of amazing tracks, no internet forum required..

Posting in this thread, because your hippy meditating ass just became the man by being all authoritarian, and I’m born to fight the man!pizzatime wrote: Sun Dec 13, 2020 12:21 am KVR is a toxic waste dump of moaning, but worse still a time drain when even just reading posts and not replying..
