It also depends on what UHE does afterward. When I bought Arturia's collection V 6 for $150 I was sure I was going to sell it for more down the road. $150 was unheard of, and for a couple of months I couldn't believe my luck. Then V7 dropped, and well, we all know the story.
The transfer fee is 15€ for each synth, unless you wait 9 months--and a lot of things can happen in 9 months.
How much is Zebra 2 going to be sold for when they release v3?

pretty staggering that dangling that for 8 years doesn't seem to have done any real rep damage. I bought z2+dz with an eye on getting z3 years ago - but feel no ill will towards them for it not being released yet. I guess when everything they do put out is of such high quality it generates some serious goodwill.

Unfortunately, there's no confirmation on that thread from u-he and there's nothing in the blurb for Dark Zebra on the u-he site saying it, either. Even if he originally offered a discounted upgrade, I see no proof at this point that it's being offered for people buying DZ on sale...

So I was wrong, it was actually in that u-he post by u-he founder Urs on KVR and not the u-he website. But, I wasn't actually on the wind up. FYI, fuckface

I havent seen a free upgrade period, that lastet for longer than one year. So maybe we'll see Z3 this year But dont rush! We expect nothing less than the greatest softsynth of all times

It's not gonna be free, but it won't cost the world either. I think it'll be €30 (we originally thought 30 bucks, but that as before we switched pricing to Euro). Also, it'll be free for owners of Zebra2 and The Dark Zebra.
